Amazon Basics Heater: Does its job well!
I ordered this because my living room- (medium size) was not retaining heat because I have my portable ac in the window. That window is insulated, but the heat was still escaping. I read the other reviews and people said it was quite powerful for a little heater, and it is a little heater, so I figured for the price, why not try it. It is small in size, seriously easy to use, and has a safety tab on the bottom of it knocks over. Built in thermostat for room control, two different heat settings and a fan for cooling, its simple, yet efficient. Some people have mentioned that there is no remote, but it shuts itself off if it senses its too hot, and turns itself back on if the temp dips or if it needs to cycle (if you have turned the thermostat knob on, so the lack of remote didn’t really bother me). There is a fan nose, no louder than when my forced hot air comes on, so that didn’t bother me. All in all- its a good price point, it does its job, its efficient, and its keeping the room warm!

Better than expected.
I didn’t expect much from this heater because it’s small, but give it time and it will heat up a big room. We left it running one day in the living room and came home to a very warm house. I was surprised at how well it worked.

Small but mighty
Small but mighty space heater more than does the job. My old space heater died the week my furnace went out and a brutal cold front hit. I quickly ordered this heater and was sure I’d freeze do to the small size. I was surprised at the amount of heat this little heater puts out on the low setting. It’s keeps my bedroom warm and toasty. I like the oscillation, and with the fan function this will be nice to keep air circulating in the summer. It’s ready to use the instructions are clear and easy to understand. There is a slight hum when in use, but it’s soothing, acting like white noise. I recommend for all my stated reasons, plus the great price.

Seems to overheat often?
The overheat protection has an automatic shut off that can be annoying at times. For the most part I can keep this heater running for hours at a time, but sometimes it will shut off after a few minutes of use on a low temperature setting. I never turn the heat temperature high, so it can be frustrating especially when you have to wait for it to cool down. The noise level is moderate. I discovered I can use it to drown out my coworkers, so if you’re looking for some white noise in an office space this will do the trick! It does take up some space on my desk but I like the handle because it’s easy to move it around.

Gets the heat to the ground (toes)
Great buy! This has saved me from needing to use my house’s heating unit during the winter weather this past weekend. I turned my house thermostat to 68 and I’ve just been using this space heater. It gets very hot and shuts off if it’s too hot for the current setting. It’s great to warm a 10×10 room. It also is low enough to warm my toes, which is an issue I’ve had with other heaters. This space heater won’t leave an inch of could air covering above the ground. I am much more warm than I was last week, and last week the weather was clear and in the 60s. Today, the weather is in the 20s and there is snow and ice outside, but I nearly overheated in my office with this heater on low! It’s small so it’s somewhat portable, but it needs to be plugged into a standard outlet. It is controlled with dials and a switch on top.

Insane
Should have got one of these a long time ago! I’ve always had bad experiences with space heaters not heating well, blowing cold air, or shutting off frequently. This one is great. Helped heat my whole home in an ice storm and help my furnace not go into overdrive. Best space heater I’ve ever had. Small but mighty, and it’s got a tip control so if it were to get knocked over it’ll turn itself off. Easy to use, love the oscillator.

Very good little heater for my needs
Very basic, affordable and effective little heater. I have a small open space studio apt and it does the trick pretty quickly when central heating doesn’t quite cut the chill. And honestly, I really do prefer not having stuff like remotes and thermostats and smart schedulers and all that extra junk – just enough adjustment flexibility with sturdy dials and a nice broad oscillation. Great price, I’m cozy.

Lots of heat for six months, then nothing
I bought this Amazon Basics oscillating space heater back in October 2020, when my apartment building’s boiler spit the bit. I used it for a month until the new boiler was in place, and then put it on the floor in my closet for five years, until this past October. I have been using it virtually every day since then. Five days ago, however, it stopped heating My biggest complaint has been that it only oscillates 40 degrees; so while it is better than a stationary space heater, it does not do an adequate job of heating the entire room. Rather, there are massive cold spots that the heat can’t reach due to the limited oscillation. Other than that it has been a great little heater, pumping out lots of heat like a champ; that is, until five days ago (3/04/26), when it stop putting out any heat whatsoever. The fan continued to run, but the heating element is dead. It only has three modes, and they are all heating modes (Low, Med, and High), no fan-only mode. So, this was not a question of me accidentally putting it in fan mode; it simply stopped heating. So, it had a shelf life of just over five years, but an operational life of only six months. I bought a Dreo Atom One Oscillating space heater here on Amazon to replace it. Unlike this Amazon Basics heater, the Dreo features 70 degree oscillation, so it heats the entire room, with no cold spots. It also throws heat about five feet farther than the Amazon Basics (roughly 10 feet vs five). So, the bottom line is, for $35 this Amazon Basics heater was a great little heater while it lasted, it just didn’t last.

I’m genuinely impressed with the Amazon Basics Oscillating Ceramic Space Heater. For such a compact unit, it puts out excellent heat and warms up a room faster than I expected. The 1500W power gives it a strong output, and the oscillation feature helps spread the warmth evenly instead of blasting one spot.I also love how quiet it is — perfect for working, relaxing, or sleeping without annoying background noise. The safety features (especially the tip-over protection and overheat shutoff) make it feel reliable and safe to use, even for longer periods. It’s lightweight, easy to move around, and super user-friendly. Whether I’m heating a bedroom, office, or just taking the chill out of the air, this heater does the job quickly and efficiently. If you want a budget-friendly, powerful, and dependable space heater, this one is absolutely worth it!

My Space Heater was delivered a few minutes ago and is already taking the chill off of my workspace. It is really well boxed with inserts that hold the heater safely in the box. I put the heater on a wire rack and had to find something to put under it so that the tip over switch would let it run. This is a feature, not a bug because you want it to turn off if it tips over. I have it on the 900 Watt setting because the electrical in my place has too many outlets on each circuit, so I feel that to use 1500 Watts would require me to ensure that nothing else was on that circuit. It’s doing a pretty good job of taking the chill off at the 900 Watt settingAdded because the heater is doing such a good job. The room is pretty large 10 X 15, so I was worried that the heater was too small especially since I’m running it at 900 Watts. It has raised the temp 8 degrees F which I think is pretty goodI had a 2nd one of these space heaters delivered today 2026-02-18 because the 1st one is so good and so worth the money. This one is plugged into the 15 amp receptacle on the stove so I can run it at 1500 watts. The 1st one has been running at 900 watts 24/7 since I received it a week ago. Since my landlord can’t/won’t fix the heat, it looks like I’m providing my own heat for the long term and have decided to aim for comfortable instead of settling for bearable

Update: Used it twice and it now either sounds like a plane taking off, or else the fan stops working temporarily. Not sure if I got two bad ones in a row or not, but I am returning this and will buy something else at this point. The first one I was sent just did not work. When turned on it smelled like heat but it did not blow or spin and when you moved it around something inside it rattled. Assumed it was a one off and exchanged it (smooth process, no issues with customer service). The new one arrived and it works and it’s warm. It also however rattles when on unless you can get it positioned just perfectly. I find this very annoying, but not enough to send it back a second time. If and when this one breaks I think I’ll go for something a bit more expensive that hopefully is quieter and doesn’t need to be bought twice. Besides that it’s warm, it oscillates as advertised, buttons are fairly intuitive, anti tip feature works.
