This thing is amazing. Wired it wrong and it would not let me run it. Had power but the app and thermostat said not today. Double checked fixed my issue and started right up. They make it real easy.Keeps the house at the temperature I want it. Like climate control storage. Amazing little thing.

Hunches & Thermostat & Customer Services
Thermostat works like a basically Thermostat because interaction with hunches as seen in many fourms doesn’t work well… you could set a schedule but my old one had a schedule setup. I was looking for something that would work better than a schedule since my hours of being home change all the time. So when I leave hunches is suppose to pick up on that and set my thermostat on away temp. Same for sleep… it’s set itself to sleep while I was away but barely picks up when I’m away properly. I’ve called tech and they just sent me to some other company who only had me reset router and thermostat and that’s about all they can do. I have researched it and had little luck other than being told Amazon tech logs in logs and a few days later everyone says it works. So far I’m not getting the same support and feel stuck debating installing my previous honeywell thermostat back up. (Update) after much troubleshooting on my own, I called back to customer support and informed them of my previous attempts and what all I have done and about the fourms I read that seem to fix the issue. I asked that we troubleshoot it and if we can’t fix it that I get a refund. Customer service went straight into refund with not attempt to fix it. Then told me they would return the funds as credit as that’s how I purchased it and that it would take 3 to 4 days after I send it back before I get a refund… my response was so I’m suppose to wait for the refund before I can order a new thermostat and then wait for deliever of a new one without their attempt to troubleshoot and basically go a week without a thermostat… answer was yes. Support was worthless and so was this thermostat… spend the extra money and get a google nest or ecobee… you’ll be glad you did to avoid Customer service for a bit that works as it is attended too.

Easy to set up and use
This thermostat was very easy to install, once I had the C-wire connected! And that was fairly easy as well since the house was wired for it already. Alexa recognized the thermostat easily and it works great for controlling and monitoring the temperature. Plus we got a discount on our power bill for having the smart thermostat! Well worth it!

It’s only a hunch.
Refurbished from Amazon comes with the same warranty as a new unit. Bought on from Woot and lasted 102 days. Woot only has a 90 day warranty. Thermostat worked as a regular unit but the WiFi module went out. So for an extra 5 I went this Amazon. Works as expected. Does a great job going from heat to cool. The only thing that needs work are the hunches. I can be in the house and if I do not engage with Alexa in a timely manner it thinks no one is home and adjusts the temp accordingly. Now I am not totally integrated this the Amazon Alexa echo system but is should know when I am home. I know Alexa is listening. I know it knows when I pull up in the driveway because I will get notifications that it has a hunch that someone is home, within a couple minutes of thinking everyone is away. Hoping it may improve over time. If not I will disable hunches and set schedules. Nice thing is that the thermostat is made by Honeywell which does a pretty good job on their own brand.

As good as the new one that I bought previously
I’d been holding off on buying this thermostat for quite some time based on reviews and even considered other pricier brands for the same reason but I finally decided to give it a try because I’m sick of having to go over to the thermostat and manually adjust it (first world problem right?)I am so pleased with my decision that immediately after installing it, I bought this renewed unit to replace our second thermostat upstairs.Installation was easy and took about 15-20 minutes to install and set up in the app. The unit mounts with 3 screws and anchors, a small screwdriver tool and an optional wall plate. A word of advice – use a better screwdriver because the included tool isn’t great. You’ll also need a drill with a 3/8” bit to assist with the wall anchors.This renewed unit is just as good as the new one I purchased at half the cost! It came with new mounting hardware and when comparing side by side, I could not tell you which one was which. I’d absolutely make the same decision to purchase the renewed unit again.Some of the reviews I’d read in the past mentioned that people had trouble with the app recognizing two thermostats, that was not the case at all with me. It was extremely easy to differentiate in the app and just as easy to control each one.Another review that made me worry about buying this thermostat was that you couldn’t simply tell your Alexa device to adjust the temperature, and that you had to open the app to make adjustments. This problem must have been resolved or a solitary issue because ours works just fine with voice commands.This thermostat does not offer a sensor option to monitor a particular room or area, so if you’re looking for that, you may need to look at other options.As far as smart settings, you have two options. Alexa can learn your routines and track your phone’s location to adjust the temperatures accordingly when you’re home or away. This works best when everyone in the household connects to the app and consents to tracking. It will even adjust the temperature to your desired settings when you’re within a certain range of your home.If this option isn’t for you, it will allow you to set schedules and desired temperature ranges throughout each day of the week. But you’re still able to log into the app and make adjustments when needed.

Managing rentals remotely
We have these installed in all of our rental properties and absolutely love them. Being able to control everything remotely from out of state has been a huge help and gives a lot of peace of mind.The app is easy to use, adjustments are quick, and it’s been very reliable so far. From a property management standpoint, it makes temperature control simple whether you’re onsite or not.Highly recommend this for any property owner, especially if you manage rentals remotely.
