Works Well, Installs… Eventually — Be Ready for Depth Issues
I picked this up to control electric radiant floor heating, and functionally it does what it’s supposed to do. Once installed, it works fine—responsive touchscreen, stable operation, and the smart features behave as expected. From a performance standpoint, no real complaints.Installation, however, was the pain point. The depth requirements don’t play nicely with some wall boxes, and mounting it turned into more of a project than expected. The depth difference meant it didn’t want to sit right without either cutting a deeper hole into the wall or getting creative. Luckily, I have a 3D printer, so I designed and used a different wall plate to make it work cleanly without modifying the wall itself.If you don’t have that luxury, this could definitely be frustrating depending on your existing setup. Once mounted properly though, it’s been solid and trouble-free.Functionality: Works as intended for radiant floor heatingControls & Interface: Touchscreen is responsive and easy to useInstallation: Mounting can be tricky due to depth differencesCompatibility: Fine electrically, but physical fit may varyReliability: Stable once installedValue: Good thermostat, just factor in potential install hassleBottom line: this thermostat does its job well, but installation isn’t always plug-and-play. Used sold as new, requires a hole in the wall.
The idea of a smart thermostat is intimidating from a privacy perspective but the convenience of it far out weigns the concern.I opened this up and saw a nondescript box with a sticker on the outside. So it appears as though you need to pinch a hole in your wall so the back half of the thermometer will fit in. They don’t explain that at all. I almost couldn’t believe what I was reading. No, template or anything. Just a couple of pictures tell you to install it. One of the worst instruction packets I’ve ever seen.The unit itself had a rip on the inside of the packaging where it’s clearly been pulled out before. It’s unprofessional at minimum.I saw the other review that mentioned something on her screen, it looked damaged or marked up. They said their was a screen protector on theirs. Well there isn’t one on mine and it’s terrible looking for a “new” item.Well Finally the end straw for me is a smear of some kind of paint on the side of the thermostat. White with a shade of brown smeared on there.In summary this is a used device being resold as new. It’s installation requires me to put a hold on the wall so it’s big butt can hang out through it, that was never clearly explained. I will be sending this thing back immediately.I recommend you look elsewhere for a smart thermostat.

Nice features good quality
Good looking thermostat with a much needed WiFi controls. The installation is pretty easy. Except that I will need to get a backin gplate of some sort to cover the standard 1 gang box that the old thermostat used. The depth is not an issue, it is the highl that is not enough to cover the opening. Otherwise it will work with my existing heated floors. It looks durable and the promises great functionality when installed.

Good Features & Performance, But Major drawbacks for North American Install/Use
The HEATIT Programmable Thermostat works very well for controlling my electric radiant floor heating, and I’m especially happy with the core features. The Wi-Fi connectivity is a huge plus, allowing easy control via a smartphone app, and the unit itself has a nice modern look once installed. I appreciate that it includes overheat protection, which is essential for my vinyl plank flooring.However, there are a couple of notable quirks that buyers should be aware of, especially those in North America:Design/Installation Flaw: The thermostat casing is a perfect square and does not properly line up with standard American electric wall boxes (which are typically rectangular), making installation tricky and requiring an adapter plate to make it fit correctly. It seems this unit was designed specifically for overseas markets.Temperature Display: It only displays the temperature in Celsius, likely another product of its intended oversees target audience. I could not find a way in the instructions or the menu to switch the display to Fahrenheit, which is a significant drawback for daily use here.Minor Noise Issue: There is a noticeable, albeit minor, coil whine when the unit is in operation. This is only audible when standing very close to the unit, but it is present and something my other thermostats do not have.Overall, it’s a capable smart thermostat, but the C-only display and the lack of compatibility with standard U.S. electrical box sizes are major inconveniences that prevent it from being a 5-star product.

I’m pleased with this Thermostat. I just recently installed for my floor heating system. It’s working as expected, and the WiFi connectivity was seamless. I’m still getting familiar with the programming features, but the intuitive interface makes it easy to learn. The WiFi features are great. The installation process was straightforward, and I’m impressed with the device’s temperature control capabilities. Overall, I’m happy with this purchase – it’s both functional and visually appealing.
