Super fan, but perhaps not for everyone
This fan was a great buy. It’s nearly perfect for my own needs, but I’ll list its qualities just in case some of them might not work so well for you.It wasn’t difficult to assemble. The hardest part was getting the front cage to snap on properly, but even that only took a few tries. And since the cage just hooks together rather than needing screws, popping it off to clean the blade will be a breeze. (Although, there’s not much of a hook to those hooks, so I don’t plan to pop the cage off any more than I absolutely have to. If those hooks wear down or break, then that’s that.) Also, all you need to put it together is your own two hands. No tools needed. It’s very powerful. It moves a great deal of air, even on low (I haven’t gone past medium yet; I’m afraid it might blow the cat across the room on high!), which is a relief. For two weeks when my A/C was out, I needed a fan that could cool me off even though the air it was moving was hot and humid. This fan blows with such force that even warm air movement is refreshing. And its force means you can set it at a fair distance and still feel it, but it’s also strong enough to blow papers and stuff around if they’re in the fan’s path, even when they aren’t particularly close to it.The oscillator has a wide swing to it, about 90 degrees, which I suppose could either be a negative or a positive. If you want it to swing but still stay relatively contained at a small angle, you may not care for this. On the other hand, it’s perfect when you have a small area of cool air (like a new portable a/c with a fairly puny blower) and want to distribute it far and wide. The cord is fairly short—rather shorter than I would’ve liked, honestly. I didn’t measure it, but I’d guess it to be maybe 6 feet. That could be a problem if you want to use it in a place without an outlet handy, but a cheap extension cord solved that problem for me. (Incidentally, there is no grounding prong on the plug, so you can use a 2-hole extension cord if necessary.)The pole has a decent amount of extension to it; I’d say you can adjust the height by about a foot and a half. At its tallest, from base to motor is (again, this is an estimate) probably 4-1/2 feet. This makes it pretty versatile; you can stand it on the floor or shorten it and put it on a (large) table. At full length, though, that also makes it a bit top-heavy. It’s fine if you leave it alone, but the cat knocked it over when I first put it together and now he’s scared of it.It’s loud. Even on low it’s pretty loud, compared to what I remember my last box fan sounding like. It doesn’t bother me at all, but if you’re someone looking for a fan for your bedroom, and you need quiet to sleep, you probably won’t like this.Seriously, I have a hard time imagining a fan with this small a footprint with as much power as this one has. I wish the cord were a bit longer, like I said, but that’s really my only complaint. When the air conditioner died, it was a real lifesaver!

Good Fan – Good price.
I bought this fan to replace a fan that died after many, many years; it speaks to its durability. It served me so well that I bought the same fan again. The fan is a little noisy, but no more than any fan I’ve had in the same price range. It doesn’t wake me up or keep me awake. As you turn the level down, it gets quieter and quieter. It is set at the height I want it to be, and it doesn’t slide down. It blows strongly and keeps me cool. I seldom have to turn on the air conditioner, and that saves a lot of money. I’ve had this fan for about three months now, and it is performing as well as the previous fan. I’m sure it will last at least as long as the previous fan. I don’t have a remote control and I don’t need one.

Solid fan that actually does everything I need
This fan was a great buy for me. It’s pretty much perfect for my needs, but I’ll break it down in case some of it matters for you.Assembly wasn’t bad. I had a little struggle getting the front grill on, but I was also distracted at the time. No tools needed, everything comes in the box, and once it’s together it feels snug and doesn’t feel cheap even though it’s all plastic. One thing I’m not quite sure on is disasembly when the fan blade inevitably starts getting dust on it. I hated taking my box fan apart with that, but this hopefully wouldn’t be too bad.Power-wise, it works great. I basically live on speed 1 since it sits close to my desk, and even then I can feel airflow across the room. If I move about 10 feet away into the living room I still feel it. I’ve only used speed 2 a couple times and it’s more than enough. I can easily move papers from 10-20 feet away on the second speed. I’ve never even needed speed 3.The oscillation feature is actually useful, not just something you ignore. I use it a lot when I don’t want constant airflow but still want the room to stay moving air-wise. The sweep is roughly 90 degrees and does a good job of covering a wide area. The tilt adjustment is another thing I use more than expected. it goes from straight ahead all the way up to pointing straight up. In winter I’ll angle it upward just to circulate air instead of blowing directly on me. It helps even out temps in the room, especially with cold air settling near the floor on laminate flooring. You can also combine tilt and oscillation to spread airflow without sitting in a direct blast. Another fun thing I’ll use the tilt for is aiming it straight up and puting stuff on it to dry. Couldn’t do that with my old fox fan too well as it would rub against the fan motor, but I’m not finding that I have that problem here with the curved face. You can even combine tilt and oscillation to cover an even wider area and prevent the fan from blowing directly on you if needed. This really comes in handy with that laminate flooring but yet it’s 10-20 degrees outside. Keeps that heat very well distributed preventing cold spots in the house.Height adjustment is straightforward. Lowest setting puts it around 2.5 feet from floor to motor, fully extended is about 4.5 feet. That range makes it easy to adjust depending on whether I’m at my desk or just trying to move air around the room. To adjust there is a little rotation thing that squeezes around the pole. Fairly large and easy enough to grip.Cord is about 6 feet. It works, but I do wish it was longer so I could tuck it away better or have more placement options. Not a dealbreaker, just something I noticed when moving it around.Controls. It’s simple as can be. You have a spin dial for controlling speed, and then a little pull knobby thing that turns on/off the oscillation.Noise is good. I work from home with my main job as “call center”. On speed 1 it’s quiet enough that nobody hears it, even if it’s pointed right at me. Speed 2 is a bit more noticeable for me but still not enough to interfere with calls or hearing people clearly. The other end still has no idea I have a fan going in the room which is nice. I haven’t really used speed 3. Compared to old box fans and especially metal shop fans, this one is much quieter.Overall:Simple, reliable, and works exactly how a fan should. If you just want something that moves air well and doesn’t get in the way, this is a solid pick.

Fan works GREAT! Assembly instructions needs improvement.
The fan works great! Not bad for the price. My only complaint is that the instructions were just a picture of the rear grille, nut, blade, spinner, and front grill to be fitted together. A couple of words directing to screw the nut into the rear grille and head assembly together before attaching the blade and screwing in the spinner would have saved some grief. The 1st time I assembled it based on the picture, the fan let out this loud flapping sound with the nut hanging off inside. Then it stopped working. This was described in a couple other customer’s reviews. So, I took it apart and started looking at the pieces closely and realized I needed to screw the nut into the rear grille attached to the head assembly before everything else. Then it worked perfectly. I hope this helps the next person that runs into this problem. It’s a great fan so far. Not the best manual instructions though.

Whisper –
I was initially skeptical because the blades seemed a bit flimsy but it has turned out to be a great fan. I’ve had a small Lasko heater for years and it still works great which is the reason I went with the fan. It’s a bit more noisy than I’d like but it performs great. When the time is hot and humid and feels like 40 degrees C, it works great to cool down the room. I am pleased with my purchase.
