Will do the job.
I’ve owned one of these fans before which we keep on are screened in back porch. It lasted a few years but it does have a problem with flSliding scale. It wouldn’t stay up all the time and I started having to tape it up. So I decided to purchase a new one. It’s just as well as the one I had before. Hope this one may will last a little bit longer. I wish they could fix it where it would stay in place after a while but once you unscrew it and move it up and down it starts to not stay in place. But it was a good price. For what I needed. No problems with the shipping. Easy to put together works well.

Noisier than expected
Ridiculously easy to assemble – took me about 10 minutes to get it out of the packaging & snap it together. Great little fan – provides excellent air circulation for a small room & the swivel feature helps. The height adjustment is a bonus. Great packaging & shipping/delivery from Amazon (as usual).I bought this fan primarily because I didn’t want to use my loud window ac unit at night but this fan makes almost as much noise as the ac! The only reason I am not returning it is ‘coz I think it eats up a lot less power than the ac & expect it will save me some $$ on electric every month. I guess the noise is just something I have to live with.Update December 2011:My electric bill has come down to between $30-$50 per month so I am giving it 5 stars instead of the 4-star rating I gave it before. Also I have grown used to the ‘white noise’ and it doesn’t bother me at all anymore. Totally worth every penny.

Excellent Inexpensive Fan
This is a very inexpensive fan and there is nothing fancy about it. It is very lightweight and made out of plastic. It required some assembly, which was very easy to accomplish. For the price, this is a wonderful fan. It moves a fair amount of air around and is very quiet. For the price, it appears to be well built and stable on its stand. I have had Lasko products before and they lasted well, so time will tell if this lasts. For now, I am very happy with it. It serves my purpose very well which is to move a little air around in my shop when I am working. Lots cheaper than buying a shop fan for several hundred dollars! I can tear this one up and get another one many times over for the cost of a regular shop fan. Guess I’m just cheap. I am very happy with the fan and recommend it.

Will Be Buying More
Very quiet, good quality, adjustable height/angle and speed settings. Doesn’t take up a lot of space and is very easy to use. Keeps my family and I cool and keeps the air circulating well. Only issue I had was it came out of the box with a small piece of the fan broken off. Idk what to call it so I just took a picture once I found where it came from, extremely minor and it could’ve happened during shipping. Overall I love this fan and I’ll be buying more to have multiple around my house.

Bought Two. Double the disappointment but with so many more uses.
Short attention span? Skip to the summary of pros and cons at the end of this review.Want to delve into the mystical experience? Read on.So I bought 2 of these fans from Amazon as Christmas presents. I should have tested them as soon as they came in. But I didn’t test them. Silly me.They seems like perfect presents even considering for the price, this was going to be a cheaply made fan. I had read reviews of the fan ceasing to function properly anywhere from 18 hours to 6 months down the road but the majority of reviews were excellent. My teen-aged child would love this. For the great price, I figured I would get one for my wife also as a “after Christmas surprise gift.” I could simply predict her amazement at seeing this fan in action and declaring her undying need to possess one for herself. Perhaps I had dreams of being the Christmas hero by having a second one at my disposal to bestow upon her thus proving my eternal love for her.My teen-aged child gets to open one present on Christmas Eve and the rest on Christmas. This present was picked. Great joy was expressed on how perfect the gift was. We jumped right to the assembly. Quick and easy assembly. Plugged in and I was simply AMAZED at how quiet this thing was. Even more amazing was the fact that the fan was doing absolutely nothing. Turning the danged thing on produced no reaction at all from this fan. I think that I would have rather seen sparks and smoke to at least acknowledge that it was malfunctioning. I then hit Google up to see if there was some “safety switch” or trick that I had missed. Nope! It just refused to acknowledge human existence. As disappointed as my teen-aged child was, I did get totally disheartened as I knew I had another fan that would certainly work. My wife would just not get her “surprise” gift until I could get a return on the defective one.I even tried to see the brighter side of this by figuring I would seemingly perform a “Christmas Miracle” by fixing the fan. Late Christmas Eve (shortly before this review was written) I snuck into the garage and grabbed the motor assembly from the other fan. I re-assembled, plugged up, turned on the switch, and (drum roll please…) …. Wait For It …. Nothing! This fan also seemed to boycott human kind! I can’t find any fix for it. Maybe I’m a complete idiot and just can’t figure a secret thing out that is so obvious that no one has ever posted a tip on it. Maybe I missed a part where I have to sign up for an air flow subscription. I don’t know. All I know is that it is now Christmas and I am definitely short two presents. Yes, I did ensure that the power outlets were fully operational. If someone has an answer to fix this, please let me know. I will happily, if not with a bit of shame, accept even the most condescending of fixes for this.Barring an unknown fix, here’s the summary breakdown for both fans:-PROS–Extremely energy efficient!–Super quiet no matter what speed the fan is set to.–Absolutely no risk of fingers (or anything) getting accidentally injured by the fan blades.–Works wonderfully for a “Freeze Frame” movie shot. Certainly no blur when zoomed in on the blades.–May provide you with great inspiration to author a review.–Has an uncanny ability to deflate your unrealistic hopes of being heroic or performing seeming miracles.–It is EXACTLY as pictured.–Performs equally well regardless if it’s plugged in or operating “wireless”. (Camping affectionados this may be for you!)–May deter would be burglars if placed in your doorway.–Great gag gift.–Has never down-voted any post on Reddit.Com. (Also appears to be kitten friendly but that seems a bit off topic.)–Refuses to partake in any type of revolution.-CON (Yup, just one!)–The fan apparently has a independent consciousness that smugly refuses to obey my wishes, dreams, and desires for it to move air.

A great fan for a great price.
I’ve found Lasko products to be generally pretty awesome. I’ve purchased a couple of their heaters in the past and now this fan and all their stuff has so far exceded expectations. The only negative thing I can say about this fan is that the plastic cage or grill is somewhat cheaply made. Despite this I have had zero problems with the fan. It’s very quiet, doesn’t vibrate, oscillates perfectly fine.I’ll elaborate about the cage:* There were a couple of very small blemishes from the manufacturing process. Nothing noticeable. Had I not put the pieces together myself I never would have noticed them.* The clips that hold to front grill to rear grill don’t seem very secure. Still, I’ve knocked this fan over a few times and the front piece still hasn’t popped off like I thought it would. That’s it. Hardly worth mentioning but I do so for the sake of earnest thoroughness. Basically a twenty-something dollar fan has a couple of non-issues… you should probably but this fan.

this was a very expensive piece of plastic that broke two days after I put it together and used it…don’t buy this product unless you want useless pieces of plastic to throw in the garbage!
