Entry level LOW density panel that will help reduce echoes but minimal sound reduction.
You get what you pay for when it comes to acoustic foam. These are slightly better than your starting point. What I mean is, the foam is thicker than the cheapest ones you’ll find on Amazon. But, they’ll come packaged in a similar way. This means they will be highly compressed in vacuum bags and come out a bit deformed. I laid all 24 of these out on the floor and let them expand for 3 or 4 days. Many of them maintained a curl but for my plans, that didn’t matter.APPLICATION – The kraft backed adhesive pieces are sticky enough. I had cut thin OSB panels – 2′ x 2′. These were painted black and once fully dry, were the foundation for 4 of these foam panels. The adhesive was pressed onto the panel with a good foot marching exercise. For each panel of 4, the foam squares have stayed on them without any hint of curling. This flattened them out as they should be and the look is good.NOISE REDUCTION – yes, they reduce some noise. More than that, they reduce room reverb and echo. If you’ve been in a room with no furniture, empty, lots of flat surfaces, you know the echo. This will absorb that echo and it does so well. So, it’s like having more soft furniture in your room. Placing these in corners will really help to reduce that effect. But, it isn’t professional level material and it is not high density. Minus one star for stating that in the listing and not delivering.OVERALL – It’s a great price for this product. Pro level panels cost this much for 4 of them. So it boils down to what it is you want to do with your room. Deaden sound? You’ll get just a little bit. Remove echo and room reverb? Yes, it will deliver that. And, it looks good.

Improved Room Acoustics, Great for Treating Reflection Points, Alternating Orientation Looks Lovely
I’ve had these foam panels installed for several months now, and they’ve made a significant difference to my office. The foam is high quality and reshapes immediately after pressing against it. These panels arrived vacuum packed, and it took about 1 day to fully expand. Importantly, I allowed 4-7 days for these to fully air out (in another unoccupied room) before installing, as there is a strong adhesive and foam smell to them. After this expansion period, these panels hold their shape and don’t smell.I installed these on a foam board, then mounted the board to my wall. In my experience, I found it difficult to remove these types of foam panels (other brands) without damaging the foam. The adhesive is strong, and all panels are firmly attached to the board.Overall, they are great for improving the acoustics in my office and really made a difference in my audio work and meeting/gaming mic audio. They are a fantastic value ($30 for 24 panels at the time of review), as other similar sized panels are between $25 and $40. I, personally, prefer these smaller panels, as I prefer to treat segments of my wall where secondary reflections occur rather than paneling the entire wall. Moreover, you can add some design by rotating the orientation of the panels in relation to each other.

Budget Acoustic Foam Panels That Help With Echo but Not True Soundproofing
I have been using these foam panels for a while in a home office and small recording space, and they are pretty much exactly what you would expect from a budget acoustic foam kit. The foam itself is decent quality for the price: thicker than the rock bottom cheap tiles, and once it fully expands it holds its shape and feels fine on the wall. They arrived vacuum packed and came out quite compressed and curled, but after a few days laid out in an empty room most of them relaxed enough to use. There is a noticeable foam and adhesive smell at first, so I let them air out for several days before installing, which helped a lot.For mounting, I had the best results sticking them onto boards first and then hanging those, rather than attaching directly to the wall. The included adhesive squares are sticky enough on smooth surfaces, and pressing them down firmly helped them stay flat and avoid curling. Once on the backing boards, the panels stayed put and the look is clean and consistent. It is worth knowing that if you stick this type of foam directly to a surface and later try to remove it, the foam can tear, so using a backing material like OSB or foam board is a good approach. In terms of performance, these do what basic acoustic foam is supposed to do: they reduce room echo and reverb, especially in the vocal range, and make a space sound less “empty” and harsh. After putting them up around reflective areas and some corners, my office audio for meetings, gaming, and voice recordings became noticeably clearer, with less slapback and roominess. They do not, however, block sound through walls or handle low frequencies in a serious way. If you go in expecting true soundproofing or major bass control, you will be disappointed; these are best seen as starter panels to tame reflections, not a professional treatment for a home theater or full studio. The wedge pattern looks like classic studio foam, and in basic black it gives a tidy, “studio” look that I like. The smaller panel size actually works well for treating specific reflection points instead of covering entire walls, and you can rotate them to create simple patterns for a bit of visual interest. For the price per pack, especially compared to professional acoustic panels, the value is good as long as you keep your goals realistic: smoother room sound and better voice clarity rather than cutting outside noise.Pros:Helps reduce echo and room reverb, especially in the vocal rangeFoam is thicker than the very cheapest tiles and holds shape after expandingPeel and stick backing is convenient for mounting to boards or smooth surfacesPlenty of panels in one pack, enough to treat a small office corner or desk areaClassic wedge design looks clean and “studio like” on the wallGood value compared to pro level acoustic treatments for basic home useCons:Arrive vacuum packed and can stay curled or creased, requiring days to expandInitial foam and adhesive smell is strong and needs time to air outAdhesive can damage foam or struggle on textured walls, better on backing boardsFoam is lower density and does very little for low or mid bass frequenciesNot true soundproofing, will not stop noise passing through walls, only reduces reflections

    As expected!
These are great! I was nervous at first because of how tightly they were vacuum packaged up, but once left to breath they fluffed back out. Quality seems like what you’d expect at this price point. No weird chemical smell, and the size and thickness match the description. The self sticking back is nice. I just had to clean my walls and stick them up. So far they are not falling down. I used them around my computer area where I record a lot of audio. They look great and so far function well – audio sounds a lot better!

Not enough adhesive for drywall installation.
Adhesive was not strong enough to stick to drywall on about 20 percent of the squares. Used some glue for the ones that fell. They do their job for sound absorption.

My use case for these is probably a little different than other people, but they work perfectly for what I need. I have a thin interior door between my office space and some server equipment that is quite loud. I can hear the fans in the server equipment quite clearly through the door. I stuck these to the back of the door to reduce the amount of sound that comes through, and they worked perfectly. There’s a noticeable difference in the amount of fan noise that’s audible from my side of the door. I’ll be ordering some more to cover the rest of the door to reduce the noise volume even further.Using these was super simple. They have a paper backing that you peel off, and then you apply the sticky back to any flat surface you want to use these acoustic panels on. Because they’re a perfect 12″x12″ square in shape, arranging them is also very easy. They’re made of a flexible foam material, so if you needed to, I suspect it’d be easy to cut them to shape if needed. They seem to stick really well.

This acoustic foam is very effective. I installed it on the inside of a mechanical room to absorb sound from some equipment. There was a noticeable impact on the sound generated. Obviously it can’t take care of vibrations through the floor, but the higher pitch tones through the walls were almost completely eliminated. The set comes vacuum sealed and heavily compressed. I let them sit for a few days after opening the package to puff up as they weren’t perfectly square when they came out of the packaging. After sitting for a day or two they were perfectly square and looked great.Installation was simple and straightforward as I just use double-sided tape to mount them to the wall. These are definitely function over form. They are not overly aesthetic, but work very well at absorbing sound.

I like these compared to other brands because the backside is completely covered in an adhesive that you peel off the paper. The only drawback is they have a strong chemical smell when opened, I let mine air out in the garage for a week before I brought them in the house.

I’ve done some research on similar materials about a year ago – and then put the whole thing on the backburner. When these popped up on Vine, I thought they might be wort trying. They came thoroughly squished – all the six panels were vacuum-packed and not more than 3/4 inch thick; expanded they are 6 inches thick (if you face the hills and valleys facing each other). The instructions for the similar products in my original research called for waiting 24 to 48 hours for the material – or making them wet and air drying them… not very attractive. When I opened this pack, I was pleasantly surprised to see the panels reach their full volume in the matter of seconds, right before my eyes! The material is less dense than I thought it would be – which is not necessarily a bad thing, after all, the panel is meant to catch the sound waves and dampen them; without something to use for comparison, they seem to reduce the sound decently. There is no adhesive included in this product – a double-sided tape or spray adhesive are recommended. No problem there – the description makes it clear.Comparing it to the other products I researched, this one seems a bit pricey – with the only thing to make it stand out being the fast expansion. For my original project I’ve been thinking of combining the panels of a few different patterns – conveniently, most of them seem to be 12×12”, and the squishy material should make it easy to put them together seamlessly. I may very well use a few packs of the AUSLET project.

These were very easy to install. The self-adhesive backing is very appreciated, I’ve worked with acoustic treatments before and adding double sided tape or command strips isn’t always effective at keeping the tiles on the wall long term. Its worth noting that once these are up and the adhesive has set, removing them is going to be difficult so make sure you’ve got everything lined up properly before you start sticking them up.They expanded fast but I’d recommend still letting them air out for a few days to let the manufacturing chemical smell dissipate. As with any acoustic treatment, this won’t do a lot to block sound between rooms but its excellent at what it is intended for which is reducing reverberation and echos.
