Heating/ cooling thermostat

Needed thermostat to keep children from overheating or keeping too cold. This works !
This is a very capable thermostat, from multi stage, programmable, or can be set up for non programmable, even has limits so not to overheat or too kool A/C unit.

Thermostat
I ordered this because the thermostat I had didn’t seem to allow for a dual setting where it would automatically change from heat to a/c depending on the temperature in the house. I needed to have my a/c serviced and so I asked the technician if he could install it for me.He did but he told me that it didn’t have what he called an “emergency” setting that supposedly kicked in if something wasn’t working (I don’t remember the exact wording he used but it wasn’t the first time I had heard than with regard to a thermostat). He said something to the effect that the heat pump wouldn’t engage with this thermostat, which can present a problem. So he put the old one I had back on and showed me that it can have a dual setting (something I was not previously told when it was installed – and I asked because the one I had before it also had that feature). Because of it not engaging the heat pump, I took off one star but overall I think this should be fine. I think the price is reasonable. I can’t necessarily recommend it though, since I went back to my old thermostat for the best functionality. But I also wouldn’t discourage anyone from ordering this thermostat.
