The ZZ Plant features glossy rich-green leaves that can almost appear fake. It grows best near a sunny window. From a sunny window to fluorescent office lights, the ZZ Plant is wonderfully tolerant of a wide range on conditions. Whether you’re able to give it steady care, travel a lot, or just get distracted by all the stresses of daily life, ZZ plant survives it all. Water when the soil is dry (about once a month) and be sure all excess water drains away. If the container does not have holes, use approximately 2-3 cups of water, adjust as needed for your environment. The height is approximately 2-foot (22 Inches) tall, measured from the bottom of the pot to the top of the plant. The ZZ Plant is a slow grower and is hardy in USDA Zones 10-12. Give it a boost during the warm months of Spring and Summer with a general-purpose fertilizer that is formulated for house plants. When the plant out grows the current container, it is time to repot. To repot the ZZ Plant, gently remove it from its current container and place it into a slightly larger container. Fill in any empty spaces with new and fresh soil and water thoroughly. Amazing and Long-Lasting! Great for Beginners
I’ve wanted to be a “plant person” for years but have never quite gotten the hang of it. After purchasing and killing many houseplants, I’d almost given up until I tried the ZZ plant. The first photo is a 12-inch ZZ I ordered in 2022 and is still thriving! The second is a 2-3 foot ZZ I ordered in April 2024 and it’s in amazing shape and continues to put out new growth constantly. I’ve ordered many plants on Amazon from Costa Farms and almost all are still alive today. They have been lush, healthy, and beautiful. I’d definitely recommend for any beginner.

Good customer service
The first plant arrived frozen – it had been a really lovely specimen, and well packaged (inner pot was plastic-wrapped to contain soil, sturdy bamboo stake, heat pack between inner and outer pots, all in a large, solid box). The problem was in the shipping, and the weather. Apparently “Keep from Heat and Frost” on the outside of the box didn’t mean much in UPS-world, in Pennsylvania in January. I was probably a little too optimistic about the prospect of a tropical plant surviving the trip – I think I hoped that the shipper somehow would keep it warm…Anyway, the plant was a mass of dark, limp leaves, so I contacted Costa Farms directly, and they responded promptly, and offered a replacement, which I happily accepted. It just arrived, and with the exception of a couple of minor freeze areas, which I trimmed, it looks great. Again, the plant was packaged extremely well. I’ll have no hesitation at all in ordering again, but I will be more aware of the weather.The plant itself was the size listed, nice and full, and the pot is a very lightweight plastic, though it really does have the look of ceramic. Pretty much all exactly as described in the listing.

Arrived waterlogged and rootbound — not healthy
This plant looked beautiful in the listing, but what I received was already struggling. It arrived tightly wrapped in plastic and brown paper with no airflow and was packed into a dense, soggy, rootbound pot. Roots are already pushing out of the bottom, and the soil has an anaerobic smell — musty and sour, like it’s been sitting too wet for too long.”Despite being in transit for just two days, the pot was so waterlogged I had to use half a roll of paper towels and multiple microfiber cloths, and elevate it on a stand just to slow the dripping. Even now, the soil won’t dry. I also found a leaf buried beneath the soil, already turning black — a sign of early rot.ZZ plants are usually easygoing, but this one arrived in survival mode. There’s no way to aerate or help the roots without repotting entirely — something I hadn’t planned to do immediately after delivery. But now I have to, just to try and save this $49 plant.There are two new shoots — one is standing upright and looks healthy, but the other hasn’t changed since it arrived. It’s still limp and pale, with no signs of perking up. Some buyers might assume that any new growth means the plant is doing well, but drooping shoots like this can be a stress response, and often don’t survive.I expected better quality control from Costa Farms. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so other customers don’t go through the same thing.P.S. I elevated the plant and did everything I could to stabilize it within 24 hours. It’s doing a little better now under indirect light, but that one limp shoot still hasn’t perked up at all. I was ready to order more plants from Costa Farms, but after spending $49 on one that needs rescue care and extra money just to stabilize it, I’ll be looking elsewhere for now.

Healthy and Beautiful; Exceeded My Expectations!
I was a bit hesitant to buy a live plant on Amazon, but the Costa Farms ZZ Plant arrived well-packaged and in fantastic condition. It was very healthy and showed no signs of stress from shipping. Now it’s thriving in my living room and adds such a lovely, modern touch to the space. The planter is stylish and fits perfectly with my decor. Definitely exceeded my expectations; would buy again!
