Dieffenbachia features variegted, green foliage. The Dieffenbachia is great for tabletops. It does well in spaces that have bright, indirect sunlight. Place Dieffenbachia in a spot that receives bright light (5 or more hours of sunlight). Water your plant about once a week with approximately 1 cup and be sure all excess water drains away. Adjust as needed for your environment. Do not let Dieffenbachia sit in water or overly soggy soil. The height at dispatch is approximately 17-inches tall, measured from the bottom of the pot to the top of the plant. The Dieffenbachia arrives in a 6-inch décor pot. To avoid water spillage, this container does not have holes. The Dieffenbachia is a fast grower. Exact growth rate depends on the care provided and its environment. Give it a boost during the warm months of Spring and Summer with a general-purpose fertilizer that is formulated for potted plants. Follow the instructions on the fertilizer package for the best use. When the plant out grows the current container, it is time to repot. To repot the Dieffenbachia, gently remove it from its current container and place it into a slightly larger container. Fill in any empty spaces with new and fresh soil and water thoroughly. This plant is considered hardy in USDA Zone 10-12.Be aware of third-party sellers; other companies try to imitate our quality. There are no other authorized Costa Farms sellers. beautiful plant received in great condition BUT…
The good news: the plant arrived intact and is clearly alive and well. There’s one leaf that has slight browning but is otherwise what I expected. The bad news: a handful of tiny green bugs (two or three) also arrived with the plant. I guess this is inevitable. Also, the descriptions for any of these plants doesn’t indicate whether the plants are safe around dogs and cats (diffenbachia are not safe around cats).I replaced the outer pot and have put it in a suitable window far from my other plants (in case more bugs turn up).

Read this review!
I opened this package up as soon as it was delivered- it was securely packaged, but, there was dirt that was loose in the package. To be fair, I do not think that could have been prevented, but, it came with a nice wooden dowel that was thick, to ensure the plant did not get smashed while in the box.I set the plant in indirect light for a few days so it could become acclimated to the weather here, but after about a week I noticed many yellow leaves on the bottom. Others have had this issue as well, if you read other reviews. I emailed Costa Farms and they asked me to send them a picture. I did, and they advised that sometimes after receiving a plant, the yellowing of the bottom leaves can occur. I was not impressed. The yellowing kept occurring, and I sent them an updated picture. Their customer service was very attentive and quick to respond. They said that as long as the yellowing leaves were on the bottom, and the rest of the plant looks healthy, it was no issue and the plant would continue growing well. Again, still not impressed. However, I pruned the yellow leaves and crossed my fingers. New growths kept forming and they were bright and healthy. The yellowing leaves discontinued. This plant has grown tremendously in the past few months and I could not be more happy with it. I encourage anyone who is considering purchasing this to take the chance. At the very least, their customer service was ON POINT!Inside the decorative planter is a grower’s pot, which has drainage holes on the bottom. When the soil is dry, I remove the plant (with the grower’s pot) from the decorative planter and water thoroughly until the water flows through the drainage holes. I allow it to sit in my sink, for the excess water to drain. Once it stops draining, I just place right back in the decorative planter. I give it moderate to bright sunlight. This is a very easy plant to care for. Low maintenance, grows quickly and is beautiful. GET THIS!

Plant never stood a chance
Arrived with 90% of the leaves yellow and wilted. I even woke up one morning and found an entire cluster of leaves along with the main stem laying next to the pot. It’s like someone pruned the stems and just placed them in dirt. Have bought many many plants from Costa Farms but this one was an epic fail. The plant never stood a chance from the time I took it out of the box till the time it ended up in the trash. I gave it a week and things just kept going from bad to worse. Even the main stem was yellow and mushy. Before trashing it I removed what I could from the soil and the main stem didn’t even have roots. It’s like the whole plant was pruned previously and someone just took all the pruning clips and stuck them in dirt to make it look like a full plant. Very disappointed but will continue to order from them since all the other plants I have ordered have arrived in good condition. I have 25 more succulents arriving from them within the next week. Fingers crossed

Arrived healthy and happy
What a splendid plant! I studied the offerings a long time before choosing this plant. I wasn’t sure what to expect, to be honest, but it arrived well wrapped and emerged healthy and fully in leaf. I was tickled to read a message that said, “Give me a drink. I’ve been traveling.” Charming! Cat owners, be aware. A friend who knows plants AND cats tells me this plan is poisonous for cats. You’ll want to check that out if you have a cat. Also check for ease of care and suitability for available light. This plant doesn’t like to have wet roots so don’t overwater. I open my curtains for part of the day and so far my plant is happy. And so ambI. This is an air cleaning plant as well. Ease of care, good grower, air reviver. What’s not to love?

Arrived healthy, looks of good quality and beautiful color.
Plant looked beautiful at first site and fresh. The only thing I didn’t like was as soon as I took it out the box and unwrapped the brown paper I was swarmed by flies. I don’t know what kind of flies they are but I hope they aren’t harmful. Wishing I would have unboxed the plant in the hallway with the flies coming out, flying everywhere and the soil dropping out. Keeping my fingers crossed. Watered at second site.

Beautiful Plant
This is the 4th plant I ordered from Costa Farms in the dead of winter that arrived in perfect condition. The plants were sent from Florida to New Jersey with heat packs in the boxes that helped keep them in tip top condition during transit in the cold weather. I love my Dieffenbachia. It’s a really beautiful, very large, full, green and lush looking. I’ve had it for a week now and it’s doing great on my bedroom dresser about 8 feet away from an east facing window. I will definitely be buying more plants from Costa Farms as I am thrilled with every purchase I made from them.
