Extremely cumbersome
Okay for absorbing high-frequency sounds, but extremely difficult to position and keep stuck to a wall. The sticky pads are enough to take paint off the wall, but not enough to keep the panels on unless you use ALL of them and make sure the panels are _completely_ expanded before hanging them. Which takes several months. Yes. I waited WEEKS for these things to finally get to 46″ in length, and now after several more weeks they’re bowing off the wall because they’ve expanded to 47.25″ in length. And when you take the panels off of the sticky pads, it tears foam off with them. It’s literally impossible to take them off without tearing up the panels at least a little bit, and the sticky pads become unusable after that. I tried to order replacements, and I used them LIBERALLY on the wall and the panel still fell down overnight! I even tried duct tape and they still fell off! The surface of the foam is extremely difficult to stick to.So1. You have to wait weeks and weeks for these to fully expand.2. You can’t move them from their initial positions because only the original sticky pads work, and only once.I like how these things look, which is why I justified so much sunk cost trying to get them to stick.

Go for it
It’s a good product, but you will need to let them expand for about 48 hours. Don’t rush the process or you will be frustrated with the results. I have them combined with Troy acoustic tiles with great results!

They return to their actual size
They do return to their actual shape after soaking them in water. We soaked these, rung them out, and left them to dry in front of a fan which took a couple days. We used the provided double sided tape to hang them up and it was a quick process. I did test to see if removing the tape would damage a freshly painted wall, and there was no damage.

STILL not returned to shape after 3 days – Maybe NEVER ? – Now have them full size !
These ‘panels’ come vacuum packed inside a plastic bag that is inside another plastic bag. Instructions say that the panels will expand back to original shape in 24-48 hours. Well, they _don’t_. Attached is a photo of some of the panels after 72 hours. As you can see, they have not returned to original shape, and they don’t seem like they will never go back to their original shape. Next I will try soaking them in water to see if that helps. Will re-post if that is successful. One star, unusable product at this point.(A few days later) This is for amazon product ‘B0F4KZ16RR’. Sometimes amazon has reviews for different products showing up, so I wanted to give you a part number reference JIC. The secret, for me, was to thoroughly wet down the panels, squeeze out excess water, then give them 7 minutes in the dryer on low, flipping them around 180 degrees, and give them another 7-9 minutes in the dryer, then put them on the floor in front of a fan to help fully dry them out. Will report back after I have used the panels in the stereo room.

They work well and look great.
Great quality for the price. These work as expected and the sticky tape they come with is sufficient to hold them firmly on a wall. I feel like they receive unfair reviews based on wrong expectations. They aren’t designed to block out sound entirely, they are designed to absorb unwanted echo in a room, and they do that well. As far as their deformed shape upon arrival, the best thing to do is throw them in a dryer for about 20 minutes on high heat and they will fluff right back into shape. Again, for the price, I would highly recommend them. They look great and work well.
