I bought these for my son’s room. He wanted sound proof panels to match his musical theme in his room. These come vacuum packed and expand over a few hours into their full size once opened. They are nice and soft to touch. We put them up in his room as soon as we got them and he tested the sound proofing by playing some music. It does help with sound proofing a little, but of course, you need more than just 4 panels in a room to really sound proof to the max. Overall, it does the job well and my son likes it.

Missing Panels
I only got 2 panels but I ordered 4Also the packaging was not good, the 2 I have are very flimsy.

Poor Quality Adhesive
Product itself is nice, but the provided double sided adhesive does not work. I followed the application instructions as instructed to no avail. If you are planning on purchasing, look into a more aggressive adhesive product. Otherwise, you will wake up with the panels on the floor.

Generator shed
Bought these to muffle some of the sound from my homebuilt generator shed for portable generator. These went around the exhaust fan and air inlet as those are the areas that allow most sound to escape the shed. These helped reduce the sound by roughly 3 decibels which is a good value for me and my neighbors. Foam is inherently fire resistant but i made extra caution to install these as far away from the generator as possible. Just make sure you allow these to expand for a full 24 hours before working with them.

Good value sound foam
These work great – sound went down almost immediately in my large room after laying these out. The easily open and expand of 24 hours. I didn’t have an unwelcome smell or challenge with chemicals. Great value as some packs of sound pads are more expensive. Shipped fast too.
