I really like these smart light bulbs
This two-pack of smart light bulbs from Auxmir was very easy to set up once you installed the app on your phone.The phone app is very easy to work with. I like how you can organize all your smart bulbs in one application by different rooms, but since I only have these two bulbs and they are both in my bedroom, I was able to label them specifically so I can locate them later.The choices of colors is across the whole color spectrum. You can choose bright white or warm white, but also tweak it to your personal preference. You can put a timer on it, set it up to illuminate in stages to wake you up in the morning; there are so many options.Personally, these are the best smart light bulbs I have ever used, and there are a few brands that I have gotten in the past. Other bulbs, different from Auxmir, stopped working within 12 hours.Once I installed these bulbs, I flipped off the switch for my bedroom lights (where I put the bulbs), and they came right on again when I flipped the light switch back on (a problem I’ve had with other brands of smart light bulbs).The remote was a nice bonus that I wasn’t expecting. With the remote, you can adjust the color, brightness, and choose which room to work with specifically if you have a lot of Auxmir bulbs around your house.The price is reasonable as well, $18.99 when I ordered them. Decent low-end smart bulb, with some unclear data practices
It was a bit of a pain to get these connected to my Alexa, but once them connected, they worked fine.In order to use this device, you need to download their app, called “Biturn” onto your phone. As with most generic brand devices like this, the legal terms and conditions are a bit spotty. For the iPhone version, the App Store says that “the developer does not collect any data from this app”, but the Privacy Policy says something altogether different, saying that they explicitly collect a full fingerprint of you, your device, and your behavior, including usage logs, search activity, MAC address, location data, and IP address. They also are very vague with who they can share data with. The good news is that they don’t force you to submit your email address or phone number, but that doesn’t mean they can’t still collect a ton of information about you. I’ll probably be setting this up on a separate dedicated IoT network or VLAN to be on the safe side.I was hoping that you could use this light with Alexa without the app, but Alexa wouldn’t recognize it unless I first set it up in the app. Their app is a little less cumbersome than other “generic brand” apps I’ve used in that there’s an icon you can press that will install the Biturn Skill into Alexa. Once that’s done, Alexa detected my light right away. I could use voice commands to change the color and brightness, and there’s also a remote control you can use to do the same.As for the hardware itself, it was decent brightness at 800 lumens and good color temperature range at 2700-6500K. I’d still give the edge to Philips Hue for overall quality reliability, as well as its color fidelity and dimming. And of course the privacy and data practices of its app and its ecosystem are much better than this one.The two light bulbs came packed in a single box, which I was surprised to see had no protective padding, just the remote control sitting on top of two light bulbs crammed next to each other (they’re made of plastic and not glass, but can still shatter if you’re not careful with it). The bulbs stayed intact and both worked well.This seems to be a decent “budget IoT” product. It’s decent for casual use if you want some fun and cheap color lighting, but if you want a real smart home system, you’ll probably want to go with something a little more premium.

All the function without needing a smart outlet
I’ve got a lamp in my entry hall I like lit up at night after we’ve headed to bed, just to stagger when the lights go out for safety concerns. However, we don’t have a smart outlet there and I really didn’t want to go through the hassle of installing one. When the brilliance of this light bulb came to my attention, I knew I wanted to try it. Smart bulbs have been around for a while, but I had never considered one before.This bulb needs a product specific app to use and it connects to your wireless network. The app allows you to set schedules and colors, and you can have multiple settings scheduled for multiple timelines. I’ve included a video where I use the app to turn it on and off, as well as changing colors at random, which you do with a color wheel you adjust on the app’s screen.So far the bulb is working as it should. We had an internet outage which disabled the schedule we had for the light, but the bulb still worked just the way a “dumb” bulb does. When the internet came back up, so did the schedule.The color variety is HUGE, though I prefer a soft white for my purposes. I can also adjust that warmth in varying degrees and brightnesses so it’s fine tuned to what I like. It’s really a versatile bulb that I never saw coming.The listing I chose came with two bulbs and you can use each of them independently of the other with their own schedules and colors. I can see this coming in handy for lots of different rooms and scenarios, especially when away for travel—or even setting timers for kids at bedtime.The ease of use and the quality of the bulb so far have exceeded my expectations and is everything I wanted. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a smart function without a smart outlet.

These smart light bulbs exceeded my expectations! Setup was quick and painless, and they connected seamlessly with both Alexa and Google Home. The app is intuitive, and the remote control is a great bonus for quick adjustments without needing your phone.The RGB+CCT color options are fantastic—whether I want bright daylight for productivity or warm tones for relaxing, these bulbs deliver. The colors are vibrant, and the brightness is more than enough to light up a room. I also love being able to schedule lighting and control everything with voice commands.They’ve completely upgraded the atmosphere in my home. Reliable, easy to use, and packed with features—definitely a great value. Highly recommend!
