Cool little thing!!
This little room thermometer is very cool!! I got this to monitor the temperature in my puppy whelping box. I love that it includes the humidity gauge as well. It also includes high and low temperatures for the last 24 hours, so if my temperature had dropped or spiked, I would know and could adjust accordingly. The battery is solar powered but it also supposedly has a back up battery in case the light in the room is not enough to power it, I did not have to use this function as the solar battery even charges in artificial lighting! Amazing! The numbers are all very visible, and easy to read from about 5 to 10 feet away. I was anticipating it to be a little bigger that it is but for my purposes I am glad it is smaller than I thought. The three atmosphere settings in the middle are a good indicator of whether moisture needs to be added or taken away and giant parentheses will surround whichever setting your room is currently at. It also has a little switch so you can switch between Fahrenheit or Celsius readings. I really love this little room thermometer and will be using it for much more than I originally purchased it for.

Reliable, compact, and reasonably priced SOLAR room thermometer!
This little room thermometer is compact and small enough to place anywhere in the room. It’s nice not to have to worry about batteries running out of charge. The price makes it a good bargain!

It Works
So, this is an upgraded version (I believe), to another thermometer I have by BakdrTherm, and like. I only think it’s an upgrade because it’s a little bigger and appears to have more features. My needs are simple, and I haven’t even used it the way I planned to, yet. I wanted one for inside and outside, but have so far only kept them in. I have one sitting lower and one higher, check them against each other, etc. Will be putting one outside soon, I’m sure, with the temps going up. Love how it’s both solar and battery. So far, it doesn’t get much or any sunlight, and has been going for a few months o battery. Build quality is good, as is functionality, and the price is exceptional for what you get, I believe. Go BaldrTherm.

Works right out of the box with any kind of lighting
We purchased an older home and it has some really weird cold spots that I have been saying over and over we need to address and figure out how to remediate these areas. Of course others in the house have said no I don’t feel the same thing that you’re feeling well this is allowed me to prove that that’s specific room in that area is definitely colder than the rest of that room and we also figured out why so thanks to this easy and quick to set up thermometer, we’re adding a layer of insulation behind that one wall in the spring because it turns out they never did that even though the other side of that isn’t unfinished very cold garage. These are things that happen when you buy an older home but I’m happy to be able to see that I was right, and we were able to take off an outlet and insert one of those little cameras that connect to your phone but have like a 3 ft cord and sure enough no insulation in there. This works great and it worked immediately out of the box. Initially when I saw that temperature I thought okay it’s got to be because it was just delivered and it was in the cold but nope, after moving it to another room which is definitely warmer it adjusted on this immediately and then one brought back into this room we found the same temperature issue as before.

Versatile solar/indoor charging feature, no worries about batteries
So far so good for this BaldrTherm Room Thermometer.I got this solar powered indoor thermometer by BaldrTherm for our bedroom to see at a glance what the temperature and humidity are, and also to compare other rooms in the house. The solar panel that charges in daylight on a window sill or with normal indoor electric lighting is the best thing about this device. It’s easy to read close up with its large black numbers for the current temp and humidity, but not nearly as easy from across the room. It’s not an HD screen, just low resolution black on gray. There’s a switch to change between F and C but no other adjustments are available. There’s no backlight option for example.Like many digital thermometers, it displays the min and max temp and humidity in smaller numbers, which allows you to see the range in a particular room. It also has three indicators in different colors for humidity comfort level ranges that don’t light up, but they do display brackets around the appropriate level indicator in response to the current humidity. It has what the seller calls a backup battery but the unit won’t work unless you pull out the plastic strip from the contacts. I tried charging it on the window sill for over 24 hours without first pulling out the tab it didn’t turn on until I did.Compared to my 25 year old antique Radio Shack devices, accuracy is within one degree for temperature; and 2 to 5% for humidity with the BaldrTherm device consistently reading lower. Possibly it’s more sensitive due to the wrap-around vents. The user guide states these tolerances accurately. All in all, it’s a good basic digital thermometer with a hygrometer for about 10 bucks, a decent value for the money, particularly for the versatile solar charging feature. The solar panel, adjustable stand, big numbers, and wrap-around vents for better air sampling all seem to function as they should.
