Powerful and Almost Silent Tower Fan
For some reason, last summer was uncharacteristically hot in my home office, making it very difficult to sit in there for 40+ hours per week to do my work. Being too warm in the summer is not fun. If I had to choose between my office being too cold or too hot, I would definitely opt for the cold. I feel air coming out of the vent, but the room just will not cool off like the rest of the house does. Because of this I decided to do some research on tower fans as I have heard that they do a good job of circulating air and keeping a room cooler than a traditional fan does. After looking at a dozen or so tower fans, I decided to go with this Electactic 37 inch tall tower fan. I loved the look and the price of it, and then read the reviews about it. The reviews were all very positive, and after about 10-15 minutes, I decided to purchase this Electactic based on these three things. It arrived in a long, skinny, rectangular box. The entire unit was protected by Styrofoam, which I was very pleased to see, because the unit remained safe during shipment. The only assembly needed was to snap together the base, and then attach the tower to the base, which will prevent it from falling over. Literally it took less than 5 minutes to get it set up. This fan is easy to move from room to room as there is a carrying handle built-in, plus, it only weighs 8 pounds. The remote control is slim and small but can turn the fan on or off, control oscillation, fan speed, can set the timer and pick the fan mode you want. When I turned it on for the first time, I expected at least a little bit of a plastic smell since this was a new product, with the smell maybe lasting just a few minutes. I have to tell you how pleased I was that there was absolutely no smell whatsoever. I also have noticed that the room cooled off a lot more than it has been recently so I am ecstatic about that. And for an added bonus, the noise level is amazing. I am able to conduct conference calls on my headset without having to worry about the fan noise being heard in the background. The LCD display is at the top front of the fan and is super easy to read. All of the controls, if you prefer to not use the remote, are at the top of the unit. As far as the oscillation goes, it oscillates in an 80 degree range. The fan expels air at a speed of 23 feet per second which really helps the air circulate well, and get me cooled off quicker. At under $70 at the time of this review, this to me is a great value for the money. It looks great, performs well, was easy to put together, and is light enough to move from room to room if needed. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet, effective room fan that does not take up much room at all. This is the seventh small appliance by Electactic that I have purchased. All of them have a sleek and modern look. All work great, and are very reliable and durable thus far. I would highly recommend this fan and really any Electactic appliance to everybody. I am very impressed with Electactic.Title of the item I am reviewing:Electactic Tower Fan for Bedroom 23ft/s Electric Oscillating Fan with Remote Quiet Bladeless Standing Fan for Indoor, 4 Mode, 6 Speeds, 12H Timer for Home Office, 37″, Black

Lightweight, small footprint, easy to use and effective, but not quiet at high speeds
I really like this tower fan. It’s lightweight and has six speeds, starting with the equivalent of a gentle breeze. The fan is not completely silent but the low to moderate speeds are very quiet, and there is no additional sound if you set the fan to oscillate. The two highest speeds make some noise, but nothing like the loud drone of a box fan. I used the fan in a 20 ft x 12 ft room and the highest speed can be felt (although lightly) from 20 feet away. The fan housing is just over 3 feet tall and about 5-½ inches wide. The base measures 12 inches in diameter. The remote control and controls on top of the fan are intuitive and I didn’t need to refer to the manual to change settings. Controls on the fan require just a tap of a fingertip. This fan has a timer, which is useful if you want to leave it running for a while after you leave the room. The directions are easy to follow and the fan is easy to assemble, but assembly requires a bit of determination if you don’t have much strength in your hands. The base comes as two half-circles that you attach by aligning some tabs at the bottom. Those tabs should pop into place, but I had to step on the seam of each side of the base to get the tabs to lock in and hold the base together. I didn’t put all my weight on it so as not to break it, but it required more than a gentle tap.Once the base is assembled, it’s attached to the bottom of the fan by lining up tabs on the bottom of the fan with the slots in the base. I could not get those tabs to pop into place until I turned the fan upright while holding the base onto the bottom, then pressed down on top of the fan with some force while turning to engage the tabs. I’m not complaining about the assembly process, other than the instructions didn’t mention using any force at all.The available modes are mostly useful:- Natural mode provides varying fan speeds from light to moderate. I equate this to sitting outside on a breezy day.- Auto mode adjusts the speed of the fan depending on the temperature in the room. The warmer the room, the higher the fan speed.- Manual allows you to adjust the fan speed.- Sleep mode turns off the lighted display. The directions say it also turns off the buzzer, but what buzzer? You can turn the display on and off yourself, so I don’t see the point of this mode. The bottom line for me is that this is a very effective fan. I won’t use it much on the highest setting because it’s too loud at that speed, and Sleep Mode seems like a gimmick. I like that it’s very lightweight and can easily be moved between rooms. The slim design makes it easy to fit anywhere, and I used the fan to help clear humidity from the bathroom after a shower, and will use it during cold winters to keep windows free of condensation. This fan is an excellent value for the cost.
