Easy to install and works perfect!
—— why i was looking for this product—–I live on campus in an apartment right by some frat and sorority houses. I underestimated how loud they would get on the weekends and even the middle of the week. I thought I’d get a head start before they all come back from winter break to make some changes to avoid some of their nuisances; one of these being the lights. The street lights are on anyway, but when they party the lights from their buildings and leds shine into my window. I live in the basement part of my complex so my window is high up and there’s really no way to completey block the light. The cops also come very often because of underage drinking, noise, or just general problems that go on during their parties. So I also have to deal with the bright cop lights .—- why this?—–I saw this product during my search for a curtain. Im not allowed to drill holes or even use adhesive or tape here, but we use command strips anyway. I was going to get adhesive curtain rod holders, a curtain, and a rod, but there’s not much space or flat area to place it on my windows. It’s also above my bed and I didn’t want to get wacked in the head if it happened to fall. This product looked easy to place, was affordable, and looked like an actual black out curtain.—- application—-It was super easy to install. I didn’t have fabric scissors but my regular cheap scissors worked fine to cut this. My scissors glided smoothly during the cuts.I will note that I didn’t notice one of the rods was bigger than the others, so I taped two together. I was about to tape the 3rd when i realized it just slides in. So i took the tape off and just slid the two smaller ones into the bigger one.The velcro was very easy to install and sticks great! I was worried it wouldnt stick well on my window because 1) the wall is cold from the snow, and 2) there’s no flat space. It wasn’t a problem and the curtain adhered just fine.—– use —–The clips work perfectly for holding the curtain when you roll it up.The light is completely blacked out. I included a video to compare my two windows.I only bought 1 to test it but now that I know what a great product it is, I’ll be ordering a 2nd one for my other window. I got this one on sale for $13 but it was originally $19. Either way, the value matches the price, and its a great solution for anyone looking for a cheap but quality fix to light blockage.

Great product!
Works great! I had to shorten the length to fit my window and applied the velcro , Don’t worry if you don’t get it in the right spot, it easily pulls away and you can reposition the fabric . It darkens the room totally. The rods all connect and slides into the bottom to make it roll up. It even fits under my blinds. Great price too!!

Affordable DIY Solution
These DIY blackout blinds are an excellent, affordable solution. They do exactly what they’re supposed to do—create complete blackout in the room. Installation was incredibly easy and took just minutes, even without any special tools. I really appreciate that you can cut them to size, which made it easy to get a perfect fit for my windows. For the price, the quality and effectiveness are impressive. Highly recommend if you need true blackout without spending a lot. I have pretty curtains that cover the blinds so you can never see them.

Does a great job of room darkening.
The window looks huge, but it is two single windows. So this blackout roller shade works really well. It does the job of keeping the light out. The two pictures with light coming through is before we fixed the gaps in the material and window. Make sure you measure. Do be afraid to put some take or adhesive where needed. We are day sleepers and love a dark room. It also helps with the heat of the sun since the room faces west and catches the afternoon Texas heat. This was well worth the purchase. They are nicely made shades and very easy to install.

No Shadow-casting
This is described here as a roller black-out shade. It is a thin, flat piece of fabric/vinyl that hangs from it being Velcroed to the upper structure of the window. There is no roller to this application. Velcro comes with the shade. I was not expecting a roller. It comes with clips that can be used to attach the lower part of the shade to an area higher on the shade to allow of access to the window or for light. I needed something to stop shadow casting in a front-facing window of a bathroom. This served my purpose well as I Velcroed it to the blind header with my window curtains over the blind. It makes the room very dark, but the casting onto the window is solved. There are no mechanics to the installation. It simply hangs by the Velcro hook and loop tape, which seems to adhere very well to the curtain and the blind header. My window is standard full length and the 72” fit perfectly with no cutting. I am pleased with this easy fix. From the outside the blinds match in unison with all the windows on the house, and the blackout vinyl is against the inside front of the blind, and I have the fabric side that matches the inside decorative curtains and the decorative curtains. All solved.

They block out sunlight completely, making my room much darker for better sleep or movie time.Installation was simple, and the shades feel sturdy and well-made. The fabric is thick but rolls smoothly, and the sleek design fits perfectly with my decor.Highly recommend for anyone needing effective blackout shades without breaking the bank!

A little disappointed, but…
I’d have given 5 stars, if they were the size that they said they were supposed to be.I ordered 3, 2 black and 1 with the planets. My windows are 33inches wide, so I ordered ones that were supposed to be 35 inches wide. They are not 35 inches wide. There is a gap on both sides of the planet one. They’ve got to be at least 2 and a half inches too thin. The black ones are both probably an inch too thin, but they’re okay because they still fully cover my windows. The annoying part is that the planet one was not on sale. I feel okay with the black ones because I only paid $10 a piece, but I spent $20 on the planet one. And $20 feels too expensive for what it is.Overall though, I’m happy with the black ones at the $10 price point.I’d be totally happy if they were all just a little bit wider (like they’re supposed to be)
