Large back lit numbers, easy to read.
Love this new t state easy to use. It was not an easy install. I had to get son in law to do. The prongs in back of new did not match old. Included was instructions n a “prong patch???”. When that was installed then worked perfect. I love it!! I hated the old programming t state. Heat went off due to prior programming. Now no programs just simple perfect t state!!!

Honeywell Home Non-Programmable Thermostat
Standard no frills thermostat. Easy to connect and function. Just set the temp you want and it will do the rest. If you want the cool air off instead of turning it off, just set to a higher temp and it will shut off until you reset the cool temp you want.

This thermostat is the one to purchase if you just want simple functionality. I’ve now replaced both of my older/complicated thermostats with this one. I was able to install myself and saved a bit of money as well.

Easy to install, Easy to use!
Very easy to install for simple heat/cool forced air systems. I replaced my problematic Google Nest that was abandoned from product support October 2025. This thermostat does not require the infamous “C” wire. It is straight forward, no wifi, no fancy hookup, does the job well. I installed this in 15 minutes. Just read the instructions prior to installation and install two alkaline AA batteries. Also the setup was super easy most presets matched my system. The only odd thing is that I was going to put Lithium batteries in the unit but I researched that they might put out too much voltage? The therometer in the unit matches my other thermometers perfectly. I think the activation threshold is two degrees from setting which is good enough.

Honeywell X1N non-programmable thermostat.This is a simple device that is suitable for a variety of non-110v applications. I purchased this unit based on prior reviews, name recognition, and largely because it takes AA batteries instead of AAA. As the larger batteries have about three times the capacity, I figured that was 1/3 the battery changes.The unit comes with drywall mollies, which I found to be unnecessary. The supplied screws installed directly into the drywall are quite sufficient if you don’t overtighten them and strip the holes. If you ever needed to replace this unit, the holes will be easier to patch if you don’t use the mollies.The instructions are detailed. Be sure to read them. Also, I recommend taking pictures of your existing wiring before disconnecting it.The unit provides stickers to label the wires as you disconnect them, which is helpful. The spring-clip connectors are easy to use and simpler than screw-terminals.As others have noted, the backlighting is off until you touch a button. True, you can’t read it in the dark until you touch it, but there’s no reason to drain the batteries 24/7.

Easy to use!
This thermostat is very easy to install and also very easy to use. I just put it on the temp I want and it is done. No programming at all. Just choose heat or cold, then the temperature you want and you got it!!! It is a very good one for seniors!
