Unsung Hero for Dog Hair
I’ve had my fair share of air purifiers, but this one quietly walked in, cleaned up the place, and never asked for recognition. It just works, and it works well.Materials feel better than expected for something in this category. The housing is sturdy, not that hollow, plasticky kind that flexes if you look at it wrong. The filter system is thoughtfully designed, and the washable component is a huge win. It feels like someone actually considered long term use instead of forcing you into a constant replacement cycle. Even the control panel and display have a clean, modern feel without looking cheap or overcomplicated.Value for money is where this thing really starts flexing. Covering a large area like it claims, handling pet hair, odors, and dander, and doing it quietly puts it in a category that usually costs more. The fact that you can maintain part of the filter instead of replacing everything adds real savings over time. It doesn’t feel like a disposable appliance, which is rare these days.Durability seems promising. It runs consistently without weird noises, rattling, or performance dips. The fan feels balanced, and the unit doesn’t overheat or struggle even when left on for long periods. This is the kind of appliance you forget about, and that’s a compliment. Features designed for pet owners.
The Ownpets Pet Air Purifier has a number of features specifically designed to help pet owners. When you get the filter out of the machine, you’ll notice how heavy it is. That’s due to a large amount of active carbon that is embedded in the filter. It’s enough that I actually can’t get light to shine through the filter for a photo and am using some pretty bright photography lights. There is a removable pre-screen which can be used to keep large things like pet hair off the more expensive hepa layer. There’s actually another attached pre-screen behind that one if you ever forget to re-attach or decide to forego. The airflow of the machine is something I measured at around 8mph using the highest speed. That’s about normal for the circular style air purifiers, but keep in mind that speed doesn’t account for the larger opening available. The sleep mode does get to a sound below 30db as little as 1ft away (when sitting the meter right on top for the photo I’ll pick up 35db). The last feature of the machine is automation which uses the particulate sensor to speed up or slow down the air purifying. Most air purifiers I’ve had with that feature stay on low speed most of the time and only really speed up when I’m doing something like cooking or using an aromatherapy device. So, that’s how I tested this machine was with an essential oil atomizer behind the unit. As you can see from the photo it instantly recognized the particles and raised the pm2.5 reading to the maximum 999 and set to work cleaning it up. So, it’s good pet based air purifier.

Great purifier
We have been running this for the last week and a half in the room where our winter-coat shedding cats spend most of the day. It’s also where their litter boxes are housed.I can see a noticeable difference in the air (literally!), as there aren’t floating dust/dander particles as visible now in the streams of light that come through the windows. Odor is reduced a bit as well. When set on automatic, you can watch it ramp up the speed when a cat comes in and uses the litter box – so somehow, it definitely senses the odor.The filter is easy to rinse off, which we’ve done once already just to test the process (it wasn’t quite ready for a rinse, but it certainly can’t hurt anything).This is a pretty powerful purifier – it’s being run in a room right now, a bit smaller than its maximum capacity (probably around 700 square feet) but I will feel confident moving it downstairs soon where it can tackle a larger space as well.I wish I’d had this in the spring when it was hard to resist opening the windows for the cool air despite all of the pollen everywhere, I bet it would have worked miracles with the pollen!It is quiet when operating as well – with a slight sound when it powers “up” upon detection of dust or odor – but still quiet even then.
