It works fine. Only thing that wasn’t clear to me from the attached document is the measurement interval at certain modes (auto, eco and plugged in). Turns out its 3 minutes on auto and 30 on eco. However, when plugged in it’s 1.5seconds. i needed the latter so I have to keep it plugged in. Its okay for this amount of money tho2

Seems okay, good battery life, hard to see readings from a short distance, bad app
This is my first indoor monitor with a PM particle readout. I don’t know how accurate it is but I know when I have my doors and windows open, I get a higher reading than when I have everything shut and my HEPA air filter is running. The readings do fluctuate throughout the day. One criticism I have is that the display is very hard to read from a distance. If you’re right next to it, you can see it but if you are 10 feet away, it’s difficult to read. The second criticism is that the app is pretty useless. Every time I open it, I get a notification that “the server is down!” I don’t know what the app does outside of keep a history of the readings. That would be very helpful but for now without it working, it’s just an on demand current indicator of air quality. Had I know these 2 things, I may have considered a different brand.The battery lasts several weeks so there is no issue there.

Buzzer?, no real time mode, bluetooth app requires internet
Alarm “buzzer” is just 2 almost inaudible chirps. If you are not nearby or not listening for them, you will not notice them. Device can be continually powered on with a potential of 0.5°C self heating error. Only 2 modes — ECO (30 min sampling) or AUTO (various but half battery life — my guess is, if leave it plugged in, it will update more often). APP requires both Bluetooth and an Internet connection. APP can update firmware in S1+, so they could make buzzer a real buzzer and add a real time or 5 minute sampling interval. In AUTO mode plugged in, reads 50% than S1 in continuos or 5 minute mode. PM2.5 to AQI uses latest standards whereas S1 one revision back (very similar). Because you can update firmware, if standards charge, the S1+ can be updated. If fix buzzer and sampling, would give it 4 stars. Stand alone bluetooth would get 5 stars.

Only useful in the dark
The sensor is thrown off by having any light source nearby, even a light bulb four feet away raises the PM2.5 reading to above 9 (from 2.0), causing it to start beeping. The manual mentions that the “photosensitive element is close to the air inlet” under the question “Why is the product data higher near the light source?”, so they even know it’s a design failure. Do not recommend.

Good, but hard to read the screen.
The devide seems to be working and provides a good reference point to the indorre air quality. The biggest negative is that the screen is impossible to read (for those of us with older eyes) due to hardly any contrast between the black numbers and the dark gray background.

Ich hatte vorher zur Kontrolle der Feinstaubwerte meines Holzofens (Raumluft Wohnzimmer) zwei andere Modelle im Einsatz die eher zufällig gewürfelte Werte angezeigt haben (auch bei erkennbarem intensiven Rauchgeruch noch AQI im grünen Bereich) . Dieses Gerät hier hat mich positiv überrascht, der PM2.5-Wert wird schnell und glaughaft präzise ermittelt. Jedes Öffnen der Ofentüre wird erkannt und als Auschlag angezeigt. Im Abgangsluftstrom meines ebenfalls gekauften HEPA-Raumluftfilters werden Werte von 8 – 10 mikro Gramm/m3 angezeigt. Das bestätigt die Filterwiksamkeit mit dem von der WHO empfohlenen Grenzwert von 10. Der Akku hält mehrere Wochen ohne Nachladen, toll. Auswertungen über die App funktionieren auch. Von mir volle Kaufempfehlung!
