Very effective
This is a great space heater. It’s quiet, works beautifully. It warms the place up without creating a windy blast of hot air. You can control how warm you like it. It remembers its settings when you turn it off. It’s a hard-working little machine and I love it. I’m also happy it’s made in the USA.

Amazing heater!!!
This is the very best space heater I’ve ever owned. 5 stars! Ten out of ten review!! Purchased this when our weather outside was -40 degrees with the wind chill. The new house heating system was not getting warmer than 62 degrees inside. I was freezing. This heater will warm up an entire room and is awesome at circulating heat. It does take a couple of hours for the entire room to feel like it is at the same temperature, but it got me warm much more quickly. And it doesn’t send out extreme heat directly in front of it. It’s all controlled and nice. Doesn’t feel like it’ll singe hair or burn your skin, like some other heaters.It won’t burn you if you touch the face while it’s in. It turns completely off if it even slightly turns over, or if fabric touches it. And it seems very safe. Plus, it works as a fan too, if you’re in a warm climate!I was not compensated for this review and I paid full price. It’s worth every penny! My other Vornado fans have lasted over 10 years and I’m hoping this heater will also!

Terrific small heater, keeps you toasty warm!
It’s hard to believe that such a small heater can do such a great job of heating a larger room but it does! I read the reviews online and on Amazon and they were very positive. The reviews are accurate. It is small but mighty. It is light enough to easily carry it to another room and it can be set to the temperature that you want to have. I have found that it maintains that set temperature without any issues.One caveat, a safety measure built in to the heater is that if you lift it or carry it and set it back down, it has an automatic shutoff and must be turned back on again. I believe that if you have animals or small children it is a great addition and it is so simple to press a button and turn it back on again.I think that it is terrific and very worth the cost. I have not seen my electric bill increase, even using it every day. I have not turned on my whole-house heating since I bought this small but mighty heater!

Working great so far – not bad for Amazon Warehouse
It’s reasonably quiet especially on the low speed setting. Heat output is good. The case doesn’t get hot. I’m using it in a finished (insulated) basement room of 280 sq ft that has a pair of crappy single-pane aluminum framed egress windows. On high-speed setting the Vornado will get the room up to temp (72) within 30 minutes. I turn it to low speed to keep it at temp.When it arrived I ran it in the garage for a day to outgas, but even before that I didn’t detect any obnoxious “toxic plastic” odors. Perhaps the first owner did the outgassing for me. I like the feature where when I shut it off it runs on fan-only mode for 8 seconds to cool down the heating element. Very smart, Vornado.The only feature I wish it had was the ability to run when plugged into a timer. As it is, when the power is interrupted it doesn’t turn back on to it’s previous setting. It’s really a minor nit for me.Happy camper at this point.- – – – – – – – – – – – Update 22-Dec-2022 – – – – – – – – – – – -The Vornado died this morning. The display and buttons still worked, but the fan wouldn’t run and, obviously, it wouldn’t heat up. I tried the usual “reset” stuff. Still no-go. Thinking it was in some kind of thermal-overload condition, I parked it in front of a fan and cooled it for 20 minutes. Nada. Zip. Nil. The empty set. At this point I’m thinking “doornail”, as in “dead as a….”.A couple hours later I started the Amazon “return” process on it and, on a whim, plugged it in. Lo and behold , It’s!!! Alive !!!! (insert Gene Wilder wearing goggles pic) So. Either it takes a couple hrs to recover from a thermal overload ….. or (queue scary music) it’s surreptitiously connected to Amazon and, when I initiated the “return” process, it got a “reawaken” packet from the mothership.Bottom line: still running. Still happy. Except for the 10 below weather and frozen water pipe, neither of which I can blame on Vornado or Amazon.

email i sent to vornado:i just bought a vornado av10 fan/heater through amazon. i plugged it in, enjoyed it for five minutes, it shorted out. i looked at the manual–it says, if this happens unplug the device for five or ten minutes, then try again. i did that–did it several times over the last hour, in fact, a complete waste of time–the screen comes on for a second and then blacks out.your product is defective. it does not work.i am returning it to amazon for a refund. you have the nerve to say on the box that you expect perfection, and the manual says that if the thing repeatedly shorts out i should call you. but, first, you’ve already wasted enough of my time; second, if you go to the extent of printing in the manual what to do if the heater repeatedly shorts out, this must be a recurring problem, other people must have had it too–not a great sign; and third, i do not want in my house a product–a product involving heat and electricity–that has even the remotest tendency to short circuit. i’d had a good impression of vornado products; i no longer do.

Best space heater I’ve used.
I’ve only been using this for 2 weeks, but I’m so impressed. It does not tip over easily, but if it’s even slightly bumped, it shuts off. With 2 large dogs around, I appreciate that feature. The unit does not get hot. It’s so wonderfully QUIET. It does not blow hot air at you like a hair dryer, thank goodness. It just gently heats the whole room w/o creating hot spots. It’s also light and has a perfect little cove in the back top to pick up with your fingertips and move it. And it regulates the room temperature well. I set it at 67, and it turns on/off as needed. I have absolutely zero complaints. How did I never hear of this brand before?! I love it.

We live in an older home, and our youngest child’s room sits over an open porch while also being the furthest room from the furnace. This room can get uncomfortably cold in the winter, and become unbearable for an infant/small child who can’t have heavy blankets to keep warm. Since I don’t want my kid sleeping in my room until they’re a teenager, I needed to find a space heater that was effective and exceptionally safe. The Vornado was highly rated across nearly every parenting website that I scoured for child-friendly heaters. The “vortex action” airflow is fantastic at evenly heating the WHOLE room, not just blasting intense hot air at the one spot its pointed. Pair this with the built in thermostat, and you never have to worry about the room becoming an unexpected spa-and-sauna in your home The safety features are what really drew me to this heater, and they have surpassed my expectations. If the heater tips even in the slightest, it turns off. We haven’t had to use the overheat feature luckily, but I have no doubt that it would work quickly as well. Best of all, it’s truly not hot to the touch at ALL. This was one of the biggest concerns as both our kids are young and curious so we knew it was going to get little hands on it at some point, regardless of how well supervised they were. It’s incredibly quiet when it turns on; we can’t tell through the monitor when it turns on and off, and it’s never once disturbed our child and woken them. We love this heater so much that we are getting rid of other space heaters and replacing them all with this. Well worth the money for all the features, peace of mind and effectiveness. Save yourself the headache of buying the $20 box store special heater that breaks (or burns) after a few uses and invest in the Vornado. You absolutely won’t regret it.

No calienta el espacio como lo haría otro tipo de calefactor, sino que templa el ambiente y lo mantiene muy confortable, el ruido que produce es muy mínimo y no molesta, además, no noté un incremento que fuera considerable en el consumo de electricidad. I bought this almost a year ago to heat a small office space. I works wonderfully, it heats the space and and it is good at regulating the temperature it without it getting too hot or cold, you can set it and forget it. It is also very quiet compared with other space heaters, I can have meetings without it interfering while it is running.The only negative aspect is there is a noticible odor with the unit that does diminish over time. If you are sensitive to smells that may be a deal breaker. After a year of use it smells very neutral now and I am happy with all aspects of this heater.I treat the heater gently as I read stories of various malfunctions and everything is still working 100% like new.

No sé si el mío haya salido defectuoso pero estoy por regresarlo, pensé en comprarlo porque había regalado mi calentador anterior de otra marca, más pequeño y viejo que sí logra calentar mi cuarto. No es una habitación muy grande, ni tampoco vivo en una región con clima muy helado (las mínimas tienden a ser de 3-7 grados celcius por las noches).Tiene un display que proyecta la temp actual, tiene un mecanismo de seguridad abajo que si se despega del piso se apaga de golpe, pienso que es para protegerse
