Best Fan Ever!
I love the Vornado line of fans. First off, this is the non-digital version of this fan (Model 80). According to the instruction booklet the digital version (Model 80X) has a kickstand and 99 speed settings. Five speed settings are enough for me. I bought this fan to place near a window, and use it to blow air out, so that air comes back through other open windows. The fan is mostly made of hard plastic. It is very sturdy and the feet are very stable. The highest speed sounds like the turbine engine of a jet. It is very powerful in moving air. I don’t think most people will need this setting, but it’s great when you want to get the airflow, in a room or out a window, moving quickly. The quietest setting is super quiet and very gentle in moving air. I appreciate that the grille is easy to remove for cleaning. The weight of this fan is 12.96 pounds (according to Vornado’s website). I think this fan offers excellent value for the money. My experience has been that Vornado fans last forever–my oldest Vornado fan is 15 years old. You can access more specs and the user’s guide on the Vornado website. Enjoy!

Worth every penny.
Took awhile to ship, but worth the wait. This is three times the price of a cheap-o box fan, but I was hoping to find something that felt more like the solidly-built fans of my childhood, and this does NOT disappoint.First impressions:A) It’s heavy. (Which is a good thing). Nothing about this feels flimsy. Even the plastics seem durable and thick.B) Controls are thoughtfully located, and straightforward. I wanted a fan that will be easy to put in a window and still live with. Knobs are a problem in this use case.C) Moves a large volume of air – as advertised.D) Not particularly quiet, but very tolerable at slow speed.This is a very satisfying product, and worth every extra penny I had to spend on it. Throwing away the cheap ones after a season or two of use is demoralizing. They make and sell replacement parts for this… you know, like a responsible company making a worthwhile product would do.

VORNADO makes the most powerful, dependable fans out there, and this one absolutely does not disappoint! Through the years I’ve owned several of their tall black pedestal fans and they’ve all been fierce, air moving beasts. This was my first time purchasing one of their box fans and although it was higher in price than the “regular” box fan I was replacing I knew the better quality and increased air flow rate would make a big difference… and boy was I right! The sturdiness & quality of the fan was obvious, there was just no comparison between this new fan and the box fans I’ve owned in the past. The last box fan I purchased was just 9 months ago. Not only did it die far too soon, it wasn’t that great while it lived.This VORNADO fan feels and looks like quality, and it’s air output is amazing! It puts the others to shame.This is the kind of purchase that really makes me happy, every penny well spent on a high quality item. It might be more expensive than your standard box fan, but that’s because IT’S NOT just your standard box fan.Thanks VORNADO, you’ve come through again! 😊

Powerful Fan
Awesome fan. Cools down the house quickly. It is a bit loud because of the powerful motor, but the speed at which it cools the room makes it worth every penny. Happy with this fan.

Very powerful, has some annoyances
This thing blasts air let me tell you. It’s really powerful, and while pretty thick, still managed to fit in our window sill.A couple of complaints though, one is the noise. It’s expected to be loud on the higher settings, but my issue is with the pitch of the sound. It has a higher pitch than some other box fans. Rather than a deeper WHOOSH it has more of a higher whine that is a little grating. It’s not too bad on the medium and lower settings though.The other issue is with the speed settings. It doesn’t have the basic 0 1 2 3 speeds that we’re familiar with. Instead, it has + and – buttons. So it’s hard to tell exactly which speed setting you’re on.Also, an annoyance is when the power goes out or flickers. Fans with manual dials for speed will resume back at the set speed when the power comes back. This fan does not, power flickers for a moment, fan is staying off and you need to go and press the power button again. Then put it back to the speed you had before.Still, it’s a solid fan that’s pretty powerful and worth it if you can get past the annoyances, the price is a bit steep so I would look for it on sale for sure.

I expected this fan to be amazing based on all of the research I conducted, and it has not disappointed -at all-. It absolutely exceeded my expectations.A key selling-point for me was the supposed fan’s longevity, and I truly believe it will perform better/live longer than many of the cheaper options. It is seriously a quality product that I raved about to anybody who complained about the heat during the summer, and I don’t think I’ll EVER purchase any other brand moving forward.The fan is clearly made with quality products, and it actually does circulate the air extremely well. In fact, for much of the summer I’d have it pointed directly toward the wall (so the air would disperse over a larger area) because I’d feel cold with it any other way (but too warm without it being on at all!).Seriously, just buy it. You won’t be disappointed.

Excellent fan, moves lot of air, but is NOISEY. There is this constant humming sound while the fan is on.When you swith the fan on , it comes at maximum speed and very noisy.Speed can be regulated – there are two switches , one labeled minus, the other plus. Speed is not regulated in numbers, such as, 1, 2 or 3The noise is the only annoying feature.
