    Great product, easy to use
These are great. Used in my son‘s room who is a gamer and up late. We share a wall, so the noise has been an issue. These dont completely cancel the sound, but diminishes it by more than half. Very easy to put up. Totally worth the money.!

    Solid budget soundproofing
I ordered the Focusound 24 Pack Sound Proof Foam Panels (1″ x 12″ x 12″) and was impressed right out of the box. The packaging was neat and secure, ensuring the panels arrived in perfect condition without dents or warping. The foam itself feels durable and holds its shape well, which is a big plus compared to some cheaper alternatives that crumble or sag over time. That said, the 1″ thickness is on the lighter side compared to other acoustic panels I’ve used. While they do help with reducing echo and improving sound quality in a room, they don’t provide quite the same level of absorption as thicker options. If you’re looking for heavy-duty soundproofing, you may want to layer them or combine with thicker panels.Overall, these are a reliable choice for basic acoustic treatment, especially if durability and good packaging matter to you. Four stars for quality and presentation, with just a slight deduction for the thinner profile.

2/3 of the tiles are great…
I’ll give it 3 stars because a little more than half of them returned to true shape. The vacuum sealing process seams a bit careless, because many of the panels got crushed near the vacuum seal seam which caused permanent disfiguration. Pictured are two panels on the same side for reference.

Vacuum packing does not affect the performance
I dont have a studio, but I do have wooden stairs right behind my headboard. We put these up to dampen the footstep sounds of our college aged kids. These work pretty well! I can see how these would be perfect in a less aesthetic setting than a master bedroom. We plan on sandwiching them behind a false wall. But baby steps! These do not smell and puff up to the expected thickness.

    Super solid damping
These have done an amazing job damping the reverberations on my far wall. I have added them in a grid on both sides parallel to my speakers and they have done a great job getting rid of those early reflections. The amount you get can cover a huge area; I think for some extra damping you could double up and space out slightly from the wall.

Not even close to “high density” but somewhat useful nevertheless
Nice shape, but doesn’t really qualify as “high density”. I would argue it’s even less than mid-density, comparing to other products in this category. Open cell + high density is a bit of a holy grail for sound absorption. But you can get good results if you layer this on top of a higher density foam, so I still found a use for it.

    Don’t worry they expand
When they first arrived, they come vacuum packed in a package that probably isn’t more than 2 inches thick. While these aren’t going to deaden sound to the point you could play drums right next to your neighbor, I was weary about them even reducing echos.I was also apprehensive they wouldn’t expand and they would off gas terribly. Any apprehensions I had about their thickness and off-gassing was put to rest within the first 24 hours. They don’t smell bad enough to even worry in my opinion. As you can see in the photo, a typical adult size chair will be more than filled with the single 24 pack.I will be getting several more packs in the very near future to fill out the rest of our spaces. I think for the money and the fact that it ships in a package that is 2 inches thick (also a picture) makes it that much easier for someone to kit out their space.Something to note is if you are vacuum packing these yourself you have to put them front facing each other and together so that it’s a flat vacuum pack. Just something to keep in mind if you don’t own your space and/or you plan on moving. There is one con and I’m not taking a star off for it so think of it is more 4.99%. Some of the edges were it was tightly vacuum packed did not come back as much as I would’ve hoped so there’s still a little squished edge. I included those pictures too, so you can make an informed decision but again I’m going to buy more of these because they’re great.

Compact, effective acoustic treatment for a small studio space
I’ve been needing professional acoustic panels for a while, and these Focusound panels have been a solid addition to my home walk-in closet studio. The packaging is genuinely impressive—24 panels compress into a box only a couple inches thick, which made storage and setup hassle-free before installation.Installation & SetupI installed them in my walk-in closet studio, and they went up without much fuss. The panels are lightweight and easy to position, which matters when you’re working in a tight space like a closet.Acoustic PerformanceThe real test is how they perform. In a small, enclosed space like a walk-in closet, they’ve noticeably reduced echo and room reflections. The difference is especially clear when I’m recording—there’s less harsh bounce-back from the walls, and the overall sound feels more controlled and less “boxy.” If you’re doing voice work, podcasting, or recording in a small room, that’s exactly what you want. What WorksSpace-efficient packaging for a large quantityLightweight and easy to install in tight spacesNoticeable reduction in echo and reflections in a small roomGood value for a 24-packMinor Considerations:In a closet, they’re hidden anyway, so aesthetics don’t matter—but if you’re using these in a visible room, the appearance is pretty basic/utilitarianBottom Line:For a home walk-in closet studio, these deliver solid acoustic improvement without the bulk or complexity. They do what they’re supposed to do at a reasonable price point.
