Variable speed fan is over-hyped and matched with substandard build quality at this price
This is a basic tower fan that suffers from the standard “cut corners” on build quality to spend money on questionably useful features. The top controls are nicely done with dim lights indicating speed and well-marked button labels, and the remote is a real standout. They didn’t cut corners on the remote, which is odd considering other build quality problems.I find the variable speed fan a letdown. It isn’t as quiet as I expected, and the constant up-and-down speed is noticeable and distracting. That may just be my preference because I use the fan sound as kind of a “white noise,” and the changing frequency of the sound ruins that. It also makes more noise while oscillating than I expected.It would have had a great, clean black profile, but the silver band at the top ruins it for me. I’m not sure why they did that. One nice addition is a handle on the back to hold while moving the fan. Certain super high-end fans could take notice of this simple feature.The big issue is that the base is much too wobbly. You can notice a slight sway as it oscillates, and it bounces after you touch it. That was the most noticeable problem with the fan and, while not a deal breaker, is a concern. That, combined with the variable speed fan (which sounds like it could put extra strain on the motor), makes me question its long-term durability.Another silly, but real complaint, is the beep. It’s loud. It goes off when you plug it in and every time you change a setting. That gets old fast. I’m not going to ding it because I’m sure you can turn that off, but mine was missing a manual, so I can’t be sure.Overall, it does the job, moves a nice bit of air around, but the advertised idea of quiet doesn’t meet my expectations.At its price point, I find it to be of middling value. Not bad, but there are much better fans out there.

Doesn’t hum like a mini engine

For me, it’s been a low-drama addition that just slips into my nightly routine without turning a simple cooldown into a production, and that easy, no-fuss consistency is exactly why I keep it plugged in.
