    They Work Just Fine
Before buying these, I read pretty much all of the reviews. Most were positive, but there were some negatives. I bit the bullet and ordered them. They’re up, and here are my thoughts:1. People complained that many of their tiles never expanded. Yes, they come squished tightly together in vacuum sealed bags, and that flattens them rather effectively. However, I immediately dampened my tiles under the faucet, wrung them out, and ran them through the laundry drier. They popped right into shape. No issues. There were some that were more squashed than others, and I set those aside to see what they did on their own. Two or three hours after unpacking, they weren’t quite as thick as the ones I dampened and dried, but still about 90 percent back to their intended thickness. They were fully expanded the next day. Considering the instructions say to give them a day or two, that’s pretty good in my book.2. Others say their tiles smelled weird. Mine didn’t. At all. No smell that I could detect.3. A handful of reviews claim their tiles were cut at wonky angles. Mine were perfect squares. I ordered the 50 pack and all 50 have 90 degree corners.4. More than a few said the double-sided tape for hanging up the tiles didn’t work for them. I have had zero issues so far. I think it depends on (a) how much pressure you use in pressing the tape to the intended surface, and (b) the type and cleanliness of the surface you’re sticking them to. Tape sticks better to some surfaces and not so well to others. In my case, the surface is raw cedar paneling. Also, if there’s any dust or smoke residue on your walls, the tape won’t adhere to it very well. So I’d strongly suggest making sure the surface is clean before trying to stick things to it. And give the tape a good hard press when applying it to the wall. It helps ensure adhesion to both the hanging surface and the tile.5. Some reviewers complained that the tiles don’t block sound. News flash — acoustic paneling isn’t meant to STOP sound. That’s what wall insulation is for. It may help DEADEN sound, but that’s it. I bought mine for a 6×8 recording studio. I have curtains, soft furniture, and a thick area rug to help deaden sound and cut echo, but the cedar panel ceiling was echoing and I had to eliminate that. I started with 25 panels on the ceiling above my recording equipment. That equals two thirds of the ceiling. As soon as they were up, I recorded a minute or two of test audio, and voila — the echo was almost completely eliminated. Not bad, if you ask me. I plan on putting up the rest, but I’m done for now. I’ll update when I have the rest of the setup completed. For my initial impression, I’m giving it 5 stars.UPDATE: 1 week later, here’s my report. The day after installing the tiles, one of the tile had a corner come loose. I pressed it back up and it stayed. No adhesion issues since. I have also tiled the rest of the ceiling and my echo issues seem to be pretty much eliminated. So my 5-star rating remains intact.

Good for reducing echo, just don’t expect full soundproofing
I picked these acoustic foam panels up to improve the sound in a small office/recording space, and they made a noticeable difference. The sound absorption works well for what it is. It really helps cut down echo and that hollow “roomy” sound when talking or recording. I noticed right away that voices sounded cleaner and less reflective after putting a few panels up.The noise level improvement is noticeable, but it’s more about softening sound than blocking it. Outside noise is still there, just less harsh, so it’s important to know this isn’t true soundproofing. The sound isolation is limited, which is expected. It won’t stop noise from coming in or out of a room, but it does make the space sound tighter and more controlled overall. The appearance is actually pretty nice. Once installed, it gives that studio-style look, and the pattern adds a bit of texture to the walls instead of looking plain. The foam expands back into shape, but it does take a little time. I let mine sit out for a day, and most of them fully recovered, though a few needed a bit longer to look completely even. The ease of use is decent, especially for a first-time setup. Cutting and placing them is simple, but putting up a lot of panels can take some time. The included adhesive works, but it’s a bit hit or miss. I had better results pressing firmly and making sure the wall was clean beforehand, but I did end up reinforcing a couple spots. The insulation effect is minor, but it does help slightly with overall room feel, especially when combined with rugs or curtains. The panels are a bit on the thinner side, so they’re not going to perform like thicker professional foam, but they still get the job done for casual setups. For the price, the value for money is pretty solid, especially if you’re just trying to improve acoustics without spending a lot.Overall, this is a good entry-level option for reducing echo and improving sound quality in a room, just go in knowing what it can and can’t do.

Packaging, quality to price ratio, noticeable improvement!
This box fooled me. 50 qty… only 4 inches. Alas, it was over 29”. To my wife I exclaim: another false prophet of sound dampening disappointment. They’ve sold me a pack of micro cloths again and cursed me a 9th time! Nope. I assumed the worse and the package was over 2 feet after expanding (1 sleeve per 25 it seems). There were 10 pads of adhesive dots for the 50 pack, roughly 30 dots per pad = 300 dots / 50 ctIf you use 1 per corner (4) per count of the 50 ct it will take 200 (50×4) and leave you with roughly 100.Do not put the backs of these in your mouth. Seriously. Don’t do it. I thought it was better than tossing it on the floor until I could clean afterwards (used to retaining FOD, etc) so learned I have some kind of sensitivity to these (also why half the stuff says don’t eat – we do dumb things – accidentally I’ve heard). These “seem” good.Once you break the seal – take the main sleeves/pads out at once. I learned how fast they expand and how fast you have to cut the entire bag open instead of just the end because you took out 1 and thought the rest would stay sealed somehow and not magically expand and get stuck in the main bag forcing MORE effort than you even wanted to begin with. Like, UGH – right? Don’t do it.I legit had to lay down after about 3 pads worth of the adhesive dot backs touching my mouth. Seriously, don’t do it. This was 100% an error on my part. Here’s a couple pics for reference. I bought more since this review, so they’re good.

This is good quality and works quite well. However, it is permanent. Once laid, does not come out without destroying the wall.

The panels would work, but unfortunately the tape supplied wasn’t any where near enough to stick them up. I have tried contacting the seller and had no response. I’m now stuck with half a job done and no more tape, and no idea how to get more (it’s unnamed double sided gum type tape I don’t know what to search for)Pretty annoyed and disappointed.

I was using these to reduce the echo in a large Cinema room. When correctly manufactured they are cheap, quick and easy to put up, the tape works well. But I have still had a few issues:Order 1: The first 50 was great, 5 stars.Order 2: The second 50 was great, 5 stars.Order 3: I then ordered another 50, half of these did not expand to the correct size and effectively were miscut so that one side was very thin (even after several weeks). I got a refund and ordered another pack.Order 4: This was misdelivered (not the manufactures/vendors fault I know), so arranged refund.Order 5: Out of this 50 approximately 40 are miscut/misshaped, so I am currently going through the process of squishing them down under boxes to send back. Its clear that there are some manufacturing issues and I really cant be bothered to go through the process again so since the sides of my room are done and only the back remains i am going to try another brand.Would have been 5 stars if the quality was consistent.
