Fantastic deal for $$, EASY to DIY install w/ great video & app instructions.
I am impressed. First of all, watch the installation video in the item listing in Amazon. It is the first video for this Sensi Lite Smart Thermostat and it could not be anymore thorough than it is. If you want step by step it is that and logical. Then the app itself does the same thing, step by step as well. These folks actually cover all the bases. I know a lot about a lot of this but not AC and heating. It went off without a hitch, I have an old 4 wire system with no C wire and what is really cool is BEFORE YOU EVEN BUY you can d/l the app, go to the step as if you are installing a new one, go where you identify the wires on your old thermostat and it will tell you if it will work for you if you are not sure. I had this thing on, up, and connected to wifi and running in about 10-15 minutes, no issues. The only thing that concerned me was I was reading reviews before buying it and some people complained about it losing connectivity frequently. Only 3 minutes after installing that happened one time, and as I was reading the re-connect instructions it prompts you to, then it reconnected on its own before I could do it. For all I know that could have been my wifi burping, it does sometimes. >>IF<< I have that as a recurring issue I will be returning it because my router has plenty of reach and several devices further from it than this thermostat never lose connection. We shall see. I am just trying to give a full picture, I have no complaints but that was the primary reasonable one I saw in the negative reviews. So far I love the thing, the display is very cool, most of the time I will be bumping it manually walking by and that is a piece of cake. I have old eyes and appreciate the large numbers on the display too. I also like I can adjust it remotely from 4 states over as well. Honestly if you just want a remote app and basic functions with a schedule (I won't use) I don't know about all these others that cost way more why you would buy one of those. It is also nice looking. Oh yeah, it works on Alexa and other voice control things I also do not use. I think you get a lot of bang for the buck on this.

Great thermostat and price!
The Sensi thermostat is easy to install and works great. I have a steam boiler, so I was able to set the heat cycle rate to slow to allow the boiler to run longer and not cycle off and on so much. I use the schedule to lower the heat setpoint while I’m at work and at night. It’s also nice to use the app to raise the setpoint before I get home. I even got a $50 rebate from my power company after installation! Definitely recommend!

Works Well for a lower price
We just spent a lot of money on a heating and air conditioner so I wanted to get a good thermostat to go with it. The Sensi Light is a nice thermostat, Easy to self-install and set up. I like the schedule feature and the humidity control. You can access and control the system with the Sensi app and with Alexa. It compatible with our new system. If you have a heat pump or multi stage system, you would need a different thermostat, is Available with some the other Sensi devices my.

Poor connectivity
I have a home that was built in 2006 and I work in a technical field (engineer) so I am familiar with troubleshooting hardware/software problems. Anyway, my problems with this unit started immediately. During installation, one is supposed to note the letter codes that the existing thermostat is connected to so that the new thermostat can be notified (via wifi and on app on your phone) how to program its terminals to match the original thermostat’s functionality. Unfortunately, my existing wire connection was not recognized as being valid by the app (even though my home is relatively new, has a C wire and works properly with the original controller). I didn’t let the this deter to me as I was sure I could fine a setup that would work through a little trial/error and voltage measurement. I was able to program my thermostat the first time without any issues; however, the setup I entered didn’t work (system produced heat when it should have been cold), so I tried to reprogram the thermostat for a 2nd try. When I searched for my wifi network on the app, I was informed that no networks could be found, which was strange since all my other devices (computers, tablets, TVs, etc) had no issues connecting to my wifi. No problem I thought because I was given the option of entering the name of a network manually, which I did. After entering the name I was asked to enter the network’s password twice, which is also strange since double entry is typically required for setting up online accounts, but not for connecting to your own wifi. Anyway, I entered the password twice and things seemed to be okay for a short time, but then the app kept informing me that it was losing its connection to the thermostat. I put the thermostat in “setup” mode by pressing the mode button for 4 seconds, but the thermostat would only stay in setup mode for a few seconds, and whenever it popped out of setup mode, the app would lose its connection again. What was really frustrating is that every time I tried to change the setup, I had to enter the network name and the password twice, which is pretty dumb for a “smart” device! I fought the system for about 2 hours and I was finally able to get another setup programmed, but that one didn’t work either. At this point I decided I was done fighting the thing and I returned it. Again, I’m a competent technical person and my heat pump is relatively new and in good working condition. If I can’t get it working smoothly, I don’t think many others will be able to either. Perhaps I just had a lemon, but my advice is to steer clear of this finicky little monster.

I managed to get this working with my old brivis gas heating unit. This thermostat need C wire for gas heating.Old thermostat had only two wires. But the heater unit had C wire built-in which I rewired to connect to this thermostat to make it work.Setup is very straightforward. It’s being one month since I installed and working perfectly.Happy with thr product so far.Note that this is a US product and it has US units and location/ weather information is only related to US or Canada. But I use Alexa and Google Home to align with my location in AU.

Great thermostat but make sure you have the right hook ups and wiring on your old furnace before removing your old thermostat or you will be in for a headache, basically do your research before tearing things apart and watch plenty of videos. Thermostat works great once it was hooked up and being able to control from your phone is a blessing.

Works great. Love the Wi-Fi connectivity and being able to adjust remotely. Great for referring the temperature when coming home from a trip

This shouldn’t be sold globally. You can’t use it as a smart device outside Canada and the US.

I had tried 2 different units of the same model and they both exhibited the same issues. The problem was a loss of wi fi signal and the system was going into off mode. Tried calling the help desk but was but on hold hearing the same message for 20 minutes. There was no message stating that there was a back log of customers. Appearance and simplicity I give it 5 stars but automated functionality I have to fail it.
